My sister was granted her early parole. She gets out on August 2nd. She spent about four months in jail out of the two years she was sentenced.
Now, originally she was to be paroled to a rehabilitation centre for six weeks then to a halfway house for two weeks.
But when she was granted her parole at her hearing she was informed that it was to be reversed. She will spend two weeks in a half way house followed by eight weeks in rehab.
Does this make sense?? Is she allowed out and about in the community at a half way house? Isn't this increasing her chances of using again? Does she HAVE to attend NA in a halfway house?
I'm sorry for all the questions, but this is a new process for me and I'm worried about all the chances she has for relapse. I know that there will always be temptations for her, but so soon? She was clean for a few months before going to prison so I know she wants to be clean now, but wanting and succeeding are two different things.

Whatever she is doing or not doing try to learn to detach and set healthy boundaries.
Let her handle her addiction.
There may not be any room in the rehab so they are sending her to a halfway house then rehab.
I know here alot of people get out of jail early there simple isn't enough room and people with addictions really need rehab not jails. Here Salvation Army makes you go to a homeless shelter for two weeks before their rehab program.
