in my family christmas is the one day of the year that no one fights. we bite out tongues if we feel something mean about to come out. this year my mum asked me if we could do it at my house and i said yes quickly. i can learn to cook turkey, and have someone to decorate for, and bake cookies. but the thing is what do i do about my CH. i dont want her in my home. but if i say that then they will hold the celebrations elsewhere, so that april can see her kids and family on the holidays. am i being unfair? should i just bite the bullet and let her into my home? she has no regard for others, so i know she will pick fights...and make everyone edgy and the mood wont be that of xmas but that of a funeral. what do i do? it may only be september, but if i put it off it will creep up on me and attack before i know it.
one-on-one having some soup sounds pretty great to me. You are not a bad person no matter what anyone says and loving yourself has to be #1. I have tried so many times to "make the sacrifice" or "bite the bullet" and in the end I was the one who was hurt or humiliated. I understand the feelings of "I damned if I do or damned if I don't" and I have recently tried a couple times to actually listen to my gut and surprisingly when I did, it was rough for some to handle it, but when they realized I actually meant business they seemed to respond in an unexpected way. Who knows where your sister will be by Christmas...you only have control over where you will be. XXOO...All my support...K
