Hearing the news last evening of Phillip Seymor Hoffman was a sad reminder that the demon is always lurking. Here is a talented man, sober over 23 years until recently he relapsed, rehab, and death.
This disease is not bias, he had money? a family? talent? Oscars? He was a man with a lifelong disease. Tragedies like this I can only hope will show society the lifelong struggle of addiction and that the demon is always knocking at there door.
Sending prayers to his family, and hoping that his death with garner awareness and another little step towards a call to action on addiction.

every time I hear of another one lost I think about how this heroin can affect any one . may God help us all and our children

Terrible tragedy and so sad for his family & fans. I just read Pen's post "insightful reading from recovering addict" and it really helps those of us (non addicts) understand this disease in a whole new light. I recommend it as a good read...

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
