So our son has reached 32 days in rehab, sober and working on himself. I can't be more happy and proud. To think we lost him, but he got a 2nd chance is a miracle in my eyes, that he woke up to the fact that he didn't want to live that life, is amazing. A blessing.
He has a ways to go, but his thinking, conversations, so much better.
We are planning an overnight with him at the end of the month.
He has not seen our new home or town, so it will be exciting for all of us.
No, he hasn't spoken to his step-dad since he's been in rehab, he told him that he wants to 'see the whites of his eyes'.....:)
I know it's a slippery slope for him in the future, but knowing how life CAN be v.s. what life WAS, is making the difference for him.
Can't be happier!
Fingers crossed, prayers said daily....hope this outlook keeps moving forward.

I am so happy for your family.
My son has nearly reached the 3 month milestone (counting in months now, not days).. We're all relaxing more now and worrying less.
May things continue on this positive path for your son as well!
