Hi ya'll! Well, it's been a HELL of a year! Our son is doing very well, almost 15 months sober. Our 6 month old grandson is adorable and doing FABULOUS! Our sons' gf is slowly getting on her way to weaning off the methadone program (they sure do take their time in getting these kids off this crap and into a path of sobriety). Our son has been at his job for over a year now and loves it. They like their apartment and he really works hard keeping it all together. God bless him!
On the flip side of the coin, I went in for a routine colonoscopy that went south real quick. It was a very close call and come to find out they filled me with fentanyl and then two hits of narcan...seriously? Yeah, they called my hubby and told him it was touch and go and to get to the hospital asap. Nice! They found a 2cm polyp that she decided to remove, perforated my colon and didn't notice it until I woke up screaming, noticed I was blown up (from the air that escaped into my body) right up to my neck, they wisked me into the OR for ER surgery, resected my colon and I spent 6 days in the ICU (one day my grandbaby came to visit YEAH!)....it was a nightmare. It was a cancerous polyp, she gave me CT scans and then stated I was clear and okay for no further treatment, but sent the files and pathology to an oncologist who then referred it to a colorectal surgeon who called today to set up consultation, of course they didn't tell me much on the phone, but stated it was to talk about surgery. SERIOUSLY? I JUST got back to work part time for a couple weeks. ARG...and I JUST got to feeling normal (it's 7 weeks today)....
Safe to say 2016 SUCKS so far...lol...
I will take whatever he has to say, evaluate, maybe get a 3rd opinion (although this guy is a colon cancer stage 3 survivor which was discovered while he was in med school, which sent him into the field he is now in)...we'll see what his findings are and see what he recommends. Can't worry about what I don't know right now right?
Well....that is my life right now! I'm just happy our son is staying the course, working hard and loving that boy of his. I've never seen him so excited about anything before! He loves his son unbelievably! I'm so happy and proud of him and tell him all the time. He's come leaps and bounds.
And who knows, maybe spring time will show up soon? Jack frost just seems to hang on! LOL....

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
I am starting to feel that at our age, they just keep finding things....UGH.
Now, how is your son handling your health issues? Sounds like good so far. I know you have a ton of crap on your plate, but make sure to praise how he is handling this...he is doing well, but extra stress makes me extra worried.
I am hoping that the rest of 2016 will be boring for you...nothing but babysitting and winning the lottery!
That is great to hear that your family is on such a great path. Here is hoping for the best for everyone.
Your son and his girlfriend are making amazing progress. He has come a long way.
