I cannot say for sure what my boyfriend was thinking when he took his own life. I hope he had no idea of how he would lay waste to the lives of those around him. None of us will ever be the same; we'll never be the people we were before and life will never be as happy again.
I have felt a lot of anger at him at times for what he did to my life. This terrible, terrible loss was brought upon me, my life wrecked and I had absolutely no say whatsoever. His children are very young and must life the rest of their lives dealing with the pain of their father abandoning them. It is almost as if he placed his pain on all of us when he left.
What I am trying to say is that no matter how well you think your family will cope if you end your life, you are wrong. Depression warps the thinking, making it seem reasonable to commit suicide. It is not. I cannot tell you what to do, only to say that you have no assurance death will bring peace. You just think it will. What you would be doing to family and friends is a terrible thing they will never get over.

Can't say that the thought doesn't pop in my head when times are hard but I have to say that life is worth living even if it is so hard that you feel you can't go on . . . Get through today . . . . then tomorrow . . . then to a place where you can be happy, and maybe that means finding the right doctor and the right medicine that truly helps you. It took me 5 doctors and ALTO of different medicines but I feel somewhat normal now and I also found out that I was not bi-polar I had PTSD from all the shit people put me through that was very empowering to hear. Hang on if you let it help is on the way if you let it and pursue it . . . call your doctor or a new doctor or go to your local emergency room and get the help you need to get through this. There is hope you just need to pursue it.
