a part of me has never allowed myself to experience the full process of the grief that came with losing my cousin (she was my best friend and sister). i did mourn her for a long time, but then for whatever reason, at a certain point, i stopped the process. it's healthy to move on, i know, but i think i did it wrong. i didn't complete the process.
after years of holding it in, a navy jet crashes in virginia beach about a mile from the apartment where she hung herself. nobody was killed. she was an aircraft mechanic in the navy, and was stationed in virginia beach. i can't NOT see meaning in this. it's time for me to allow myself to feel the grief that i have been suppressing for so long.
i just wish i could say goodbye to her. hug her and sob and say goodbye.
