Essential Tremor (ET) is a neurological disorder characterized by shaking of hands (and sometimes other parts of the body including the head), evoked by intentional movements. The incidence is unknown, but is estimated to be as common as one person in 20, and it is the most common type of tremor and also the most commonly observed movement disorder.

CBD Cannabinoid?

Does anyone have any experience with using medical marijuana for ET? I saw Sanjay Gupta's documentary Weed recently, and some people are experiencing great success treating epileptic siezures, and at least one other spasmodic disorder.

I plan to test it soon, once I download LiftLabs Tremor app to my smart phone. The app measures the magnitude and frequency of your tremor. Once I get a baseline, I'll try some local black market pot. But unfortunately it will be high THC low CBD, and from the documentary it appears that exactly the opposite is what's more effective, high CBD low THC.

I have never used a high CBD based marijuana and would be interested in the results you find. I have (way in the past) used regular marijuana and found it temporarily helps cope with EST stress but does not control or remove the tremors. I found the confusion, lack of clarity and general tiredness that occurs the next day actually increased my tremors.

I did a little research and found this article.....it actually states CBD products are legal and even provide a link where they can be purchased.

BTW, I bought the legal CBD oil and tried it. Even though it had a very mild relaxing affect it did not help. However, it did make my skin look nice :)

I have been taking CBD oil for a few weeks now. I started out on a very low dose. This had no effect so started taking more. I have nerve damage and I was hoping it would ease the pain. Once I realised that I needed a very high dose the CBD started to ease off the pain and helped me sleep at night. I would 100% recommend but start small and work up to the right dose. I eventually tested some "normal" pot. It was very strong and a dismal failure. I smoked pot as a youth/young adult and never felt the anxiety and paranoia this caused. It also greatly exacerbated my tremor. Still haven't tested high CBD low THC, but it's on my list to try.
