Esophageal Cancer Support Group
Esophageal cancer is malignancy of the esophagus. There are various subtypes. Esophageal tumors usually lead to dysphagia (difficulty swallowing), pain and other symptoms, and is diagnosed with biopsy. Small and localized tumors are treated with surgery, and advanced tumors are treated with chemotherapy, radiotherapy or combinations.
Friends....on Friday i have my 2.5 year scans and exam. I had the surgery August 2009 and have had 8 clean scans sice. Because I was 2 years out with NED they have moved my exams to every 6 months.I write at this time because I'm in freak out mode, as I am before every exam. I had stage 4 disease and was given an 11% chance to live a year. That was 2.5 years ago, and I feel fine. Listen, I make this request only because I know I would do absolutely anything within my power to help each and every one of you in any way that I can. We are all in this together. I could use some love and, if you're so inclined, a little prayer.....thanks....ML.
Hang in there - it's often a reminder to me - at testing time - to try and stay in the moment. I'm glad you are feeling good. Try and keep focused on that - I am too :-) I am due in July for my next scan & scope. I think we all get nervous at test time! It's always a relief to get the NED report and I'm praying for you to hear that this time again too :-)
Will you find out Friday your results? I generally find mine out at my follow-up oncologist a week later. I'll be lifting extra prayers for you and one of my best girlfriends will add you to her church prayer list, like she did me :-) I believe there is power in prayers & I bet you have people all over the country & other countries praying for you too.
