Can anyone tell me anything about this and how it relates to epilepsy? I tried looking it up but couldn't find what I wanted. I've recently started having episodes again, but I noticed only when I heavily drink. I've had about 3-4 episodes spread out within 4months. I was wondering if this has been happening because of a nervous system overload and if I will have to not drink all together in order to keep from having any more episodes. Before this I was 2years free of any seizures. I haven't seen a neurologist yet to talk to this about this.

Alcohol does increase the chance of you having a seizure. it can also have severe negative effects with meds to.

I'm aware of the negative affects it can have on your meds. Once when I was younger I was stupid and mixed them together and got the worst dizzying affect from one sip of wine. I got the affect of being drunk without even needing to be; never again.

It never happened to me when I drank in the past. My doctor told me I could have a few drinks. A few turned into many. Was hung over many of times. But never had a seizure. It is a possibility. You might want to see your doctor for help right now.

Alcohol and epilepsy don't mix. Over-stimulation can be from other things too. Adrenaline rush from doing something crazy like sky diving. It comes from those strobe lights in a night club. Playing certain types of video games.
