This Board can be a little slow. Your a young guy and I'm sure dealing with Epilepsy is not the easiest. My name is Kat by the way. I have a Seizure Disorder and have Grand Mal Seizures, I tend to get a 30 -35 second aura so I get a little warning. I grew up in this world as my Mother and Sister had Epilepsy. Is your Epilepsy fairly well controlled? Are you on medication that keeps the seizures under control?
I know sometimes Therapy can seem like it only works for a while, but generally its because we tend to stop talking. Have you talked to your Therapist about other things you can talk about? How to handle seizures in the future, how to deal with other peoples reactions as you get older? How to get your parents to let go a little bit as you go off to college, those kind of things?
My Epilepsy is mostly controlled due to trying Keppra now, though typically whenever it is controlled and I gain confidence in myself that it'll be okay, I have another episode. Thanks for the reply, I wasn't really expecting it.
I don't see a therapist anymore, as they've got too expensive and I couldn't find the results I was seeking for.
Unfortunately, I have a handful of other issues too, which causes plenty of stress, which triggers seizures as well. You mentioned an aura? Sort of like a warning beforehand? I don't get the opportunity to talk to others with epilepsy, but I get the same thing, 15 seconds.
Anyways, how are you doing? How's your epilepsy and general life holding up?
