When the immune system responds to a foreign substance in an abnormal way, it is classified as an allergy. When the body first contacts the substance, it will not cause any reactions, but the immune system will start to produce antibodies to it and subsequent contact will trigger more dramatic responses. Depending on the allergy, the response could be mild or very severe...

Sorry to be nasty but does anyone else's allergies cause them to have an excess phlegm problem? Or does anyone have any advice? Sometimes mine is so bad in the morning that I start chocking and coughing...sometimes I even gag and throw up anything thats in my stomach. I keep away from dairy, have tried taking mucinex and claratin D at night and sleeping on a mountain of pillows. This fall my allergies have been really bad and I currently don't have a voice and I have an ear infection. My doctor started me on flonase today. Hopefully that will help.

I can't add much advice but I have the same problem. I was in the shower yesterday when I started chocking so hard I thought I was going to throw up. I think this is the worst my allergies have been.

If you dont have constant nasalcongestion then disrgard the other stuff other than the allergist. You probably need to go to an allergist or alteast try a asthimanine nasal spray the histamine kind. You should try a saline nasal rinise you can get the nelimed kit from cvs. It rinses the nostrils out I would try some nasal sprays at cvs tho, one I have found to be helpful is nasal crom and zicam the homepathic one for seasonal allergy relief. No I dont get that much mucus where I choke it, mostly stays in my nose.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
