well i had the procedure done and i can honestly say that i can already tell only one day out that my sinuses are opened. the doctor said that my right sinuses were completely closed and the left were nearly closed so it was no wonder i was having pain...

What is reported?????
anyway my problems were basically just chronic inflammation, likely caused by allergies and such. was never really congested, not alot of mucous production or anything just nearly debilitating pain. was going through a box of sudafed a day :( have you guys tried anatabloc?

ill add that my doc referred to my pain as a barometric headache-anyone ever heard of that before?

@Besler17: I have had chronic sinus infections for 17 years, and 7 sinus surgeries. However, the last surgery involved balloon sinuplasty. What really surprised me is that after the surgery, the doctor told me he found a ball shaped fungus sitting right behind one of my sinuses, which he removed. Now i understand why the previous surgeries didn't work for me - no other doctor delved far enough into my sinuses to find the problem. I've also been tested for allergies, and i'm highly allergic to a lot of things. My sense of smell is so powerful now....its amazing.

I have to add that my ENT doctor referred me to another doctor, since I was still having headaches - in the back of my head, top of my head, around my temples - throbbing, painful headaches. It was discovered that I also have migraine headaches, and I take Maxalt for that. Wanted to end on a good note, but i do still get headaches.

Besler17, did the doctor say how long the baloon sinuplasty will last? Can the sinuses get swollen again and close back up?

i agree with you orlando ..how was the recovery? will it ever close again? would love more info. im very interested in trying something..hate this constnt everyday , sinus congestion and pain.

My ENT just told me yesterday the balloon sinusplasty will last "forever". He is VERY well-respected in the metro-region where I live.

I trust him, and will be having the procedure soon ; 45min prep, 20min procedure!!
