Spring is here and all the flowers are starting to bloom. My allergies get extremely bad due to all of the pollen flying around in the air. I'm wondering if there are any medicine I can take to reduce and help my allergies.

Hi Taylee...Welcome to the group! There are several medications you can take. In my opinion, the best are those that won't make you drowsy. Out of that class of meds, Zyrtec works the best for me, but I have friends who are helped by Claritin and Allegra. Unfortunately, it's pretty much trial and error as to what works best for you. Benadryl can also be helpful, but it is very sedating. Hope you find something that helps!

Treatment for your allergy should first confirm. An allergist can help by taking a skin-prick test to know what is causing your problem. There are some ways to treat pollen allergies.
Nasal irrigation - It helps to rinse out sinuses using a squeeze bottle.
Otc drugs - If the nose is stuffy enough, decongestants can help to breathe easier.
Prescription medication - If otc drugs do not work then your doctor may prescribe some stronger medication.
Allergy shots - If both otc and prescription medications do not work, allergy shots can be helpful.
