Yes, I am a smoker. Sad but true. I keep telling myself every single day that I HAVE TO QUIT! And no matter how expensive they get, I still continue on with it. Unfortunately, we both know it's a NASTY addiction, and it certainly does not help with endo. This is not a valid excuse, but it's so hard trying to quit - especially when I'm a bartender and everyone at my work smokes. I find because of my other health issues, I am under constant stress. I wonder to myself everyday: Why am I doing something to my body that does more harm than good? Especially when I have to deal with the endo struggle? Isn't that hurting me enough? I was a smoker for 5 years and quit this year - BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE!!!! I learned later that endo is worsened greatly by cigarette smoking. Since we are all also at higher risk for cancers it is ridiculous for us to smoke and increase it more. To be honest, smoking made me feel MORE tired, MORE angry, MORE depressed, MORE sick on a daily basis. Since quitting I stopped getting some symptoms that I had for those 5 years. Smoking also makes stomach discomfort worse. The act of burning chemicals is actually one of the causes of endo (dioxins)...so I quit by imgaging each time I had a cigarette that i was GIVING myself worse endo. Worked like a charm and I haven't had one since last July!!!

P.S. They say one of the best ways to quit is to replace the habit slowly. I started to surf the net after meals, in the morning and at night when I would normally smoke. It worked well to replace one activity with another so that I was feeling like I was doing something, but not smoking. I also learned to 'take a deep breath' when I really wanted one and it helped.
The best thing quitting got rid of was anxiety! Smoking worsens it....

I quit.... 40 some days now... when you are ready go for it... I can smell things I never smelled before, things taste better, I am saving $.
Never thought about smoking and pain being related... so not sure if it helped I will pay attention and let you know if I notice anything

My b/f smokes too and we both work from home, so we are ALWAYS together...and whenever we both try and quit together we nearly end up killing each other.

yes im a smoker too. wish i had the will to quit. maybe by the end of this year.

a friend gave me the rest of her prescription of Chantix, because she said she really only needed 2 days worth to stop smoking. I haven't tried it myself yet, don't know what the heck i'm waiting for. Once i start, i'll let you know if it works as well as my friend says.

I hate to admit it but yes I'm also a smoker. I know I really need to quit but I'm with you girls in saying it's very hard. I tell myself each day that today will be the day that I quit but it never is. This is no excuse but I'm super stressed all the time and I smoke. Does it really help to relax you?? Not really. Hopefully one of these day's I'll have enough will power to put them down for good!

im a smoker too. As much as i know i NEED to quit, i dont want to, i still like it! I've been smoking for about 10 years now (how did that happen?!?) Im with all you girls, i feel like im just so stressed all the time that its the one thing i can do to just stop for a second and relax. For now, ive at least tried to really cut down, but even thats been tough! One of these days....

I was a smoker, pack a day, but the doctors told me I would increase my chance of getting pregnant if I quit. So I did and since then (1998), I still have one occasionally. My husband is a smoker, so it's always available. I only have 1 or so a day, mostly when I'm super stressed :)
