Although I have not been formally diagnosed with endometriosis...I have a laparoscopy on July 15th, but my gyno suspects it....I just wanted to tell you that I too have pain sometimes in the middle of my abdomen. Mostly its on the right side and sometimes goes around my back as well.

I also wanted to just say I can totally understand the "phantom ailment" thing. I have had so many tests and they all come back normal. I cant wait for my lap so I can know for sure just what the heck is going on. Have you talked to your doctor about doing a lap to check higher up in your abdomen?

im with you here. i have not beedn diagnosed yet. and im on a waiting list for a lap.
i have been like this at home for two years and had every test and dissapointment of nothing showing when we are desperate to get better. my pain is lower than you mention.
yes its hard having a 'phantom lognment' as kristint mentions... people have a hard time understanding how unwell you are..

When i have the period cramp feeling i also get a crampey stomach..it quite often is near my belly button and i get a feeling of a tight crampey chest..im not sure if its just the medication im on for pain though.

Ive had tabelts for ibs,,uhm yeah they didnt work atal! I tryed mebervine and buscopan, My mum takes meberervine and they work really well for her but never did a thing for me. xxx

I basically hurt all over. There are spots mainly lower abdomen, lower back and around my belly button that get really bad. But to press anywhere around my stomach hurts too. I personally think it's the inflammation of the endo.

They have done colonscopies, scans etc. I think they definitely need to look and see whats on the outside of my bowel lol.

Do gyno's normally do that or do they have to be a bowel expert too?

a gyno does it. then if they find it on your bowels you will have t have another lap together with a gi doc in there too wrking together.

I'm glad I read this post..I too have upper abdominal pain and was never sure what it was. I'd like to also suggest the possibility of acid reflux-I have it and didn't really realize because its not like I had the typical heartburn..but my stomach ached in the belly button region and even higher, into my rib cage right in the middle and sometimes through the back. talk to you dr and maybe that can have you try nexium, it worked for me within a few days, I have found that since I have been on it the upper abdomonal pain has improved (I have actually just been on it for about a week now, I noticed the pain got worse after the stress of my lap that didn't happen). I am sorry..I too (as many of us do here) understand how frustrating it is to be in so much pain and not know what it is. my pain is normally around where my gallbladder is. I have had numerous scans to check and my gallbladder is fine. Its feels like intense pressure and I think it's some sort of differed pain from my lower abdomen. I don't know hehe. Thankfully I am normally getting pain from mid abdomen to my pelvic region which definitely tells me something is going on. I have an appt and an ultra sound scan next week!
