Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Or could be a bowel obstruction because of a colon polyp. Most polyps are harmless, but some grow too big and can completely block the intestine, and a very few are cancerous.
It's for that reason that I had a colonoscopy about 7 years ago because I too had rectal bleeding. It is not supposed to happen at our age! So push your doc to do a colonoscopy. They are not painful, and recovery is a breeze. Hope this resolves quickly.
Hope you get it resolved ASAP! Take care of yourself in the meantime...
Also, when it comes to my period and them "going in there," I don't even care anymore. It's their job, and I'm broken and need to be fixed. LOL! Last time I had my period, I got "checked out." I felt gross, but I was in so much pain that I just didn't care.
What has really helped me with rectal bleeding is (drum roll) diet. See if the GI specialist can help you with an Elimination Diet, or recommend someone to do that with you. Endo is an inflammatory condition. Reducing inflammation in our body overall can help with all secondary Endo symptoms. If the lining of our intestines is inflamed, many things can set it off even more. For instance, you may not be gluten intolerant but, if your intestines is already irritated, gluten can make it worse. Think of it as putting lemon juice on a cut.
I hope you can get this settled down soon.
