Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
I went to work 12 days after my lap, and it was too soon. I hurt at the end of those 8 hours worse than the day after surgery. Unless you can really take it easy at work, you're likely not going back that soon. You need time to heal and gradually get back to yourself. Believe me, things will hurt you never knew existed.
As far as being excited, it makes perfect sense. The thought of getting relief can be wonderful when you have that much pain.
And for the belly button, don't worry! Mine looks just fine. You will see a slight scar at the very bottom of it, but I have to really look to see it. No one else can tell. I had three total incisions, all small with just a couple of stitches. None of them are very noticeable.
Best of wishes to you!!!
I did have to do an enema, two actually. One the night before and another the morning of in addition to 24 hours of clear liquids only then nothing after midnight the night prior. I was mortified about the enemas, but managed well enough and honestly it was not that bad. It sounds loads better than the laxative bowel cleanses some women do before surgery. We knew I had bowel involvement, so I knew some prep was in order.
Travel at 6 weeks should be fine. I flew to my parents house 2 weeks post-op and back another 2 weeks after that. My surgery ended up taking ~4 hours and 4 incisions.
My boyfriend offered to do the enema I was like OH HELL NO! haha that is awful. But the offer was nice (I think he just wants an excuse to play with my ass but hey who knows lol) ugh
How long before you were up and around? I'm just trying to think positive and say I'll be ok at 5 days but if I need more rest, than what can you do?
I've had 4 laps, my belly button looks fine. And my other incision is asking my pubic hair line so you can't see it. My only incision that's noticeable is the one they made to remove my ovary.
I had to do bowel preps not enemas.
You should be able to get up and start moving that day (slowly of course!)
I'm so glad you are finally getting this done so you can get some answers.
I don't drive, so I will leave that one to someone else.
