Hey ladies,
Looks like my fear came true, I had my lap this morning and they found nothing. Which I suppose is good news because I never wanted endo, but now I have no answers. I'm really surprised because my doctor was confident that I had it, but all he found was the same cyst that has been there since September and I'm pretty sure he didn't remove it. I didn't get to talk to him, but my parents did, and he seems to think this is all IBS-related. The thing is, I've had IBS since I was about 10 and had untreated Celiac for about 10 years, and I never ever had this amount of pain, especially the awful stabbing pain during sex and the pain and swelling for two days afterward. I have tried to find a connection between IBS and the pain during sex but nothing. I also don't think it's normal to throw up from pain during your period.
I really don't know what to do or where to go from here. I cried for a good couple of hours because it seems that this is just the way I have to feel for the rest of my life, with no treatment or end in sight.

Im sorry, but i think you really need to find a new Dr. and have another lap. Give yourself/body time. Then really try to see an endo specialist and have another surgery...heres a link to a list;

-If you cant see an endo specialist, at least see am RE, or even a gynecological oncologist; they can find endo.

Also, I'm definitely going to be seeking a second opinion on this. 10 minutes doesn't seem like long enough to take a thorough look, he did take pictures so I'm looking forward to reviewing those and seeing which areas he even looked at. I know that continuous birth control and ibuprofen/pain killers don't make IBS feel better, and I know that IBS shouldn't be associated with that deep, stabbing pain during sex. I'm going to have to recover for a while before seeking answers again, I am thinking about going to a naturopath or accupuncturist or something for a while to see if I can just find a way to get the pain under control because at this point I am NOT ready for another surgery.
sorry you don't have the answers to your pain. Did they find adhesions or anything? When I had my first lap, they only found adhesions but 6 months later they found endo and adhesions. I pray that you do not have endo but i do want you to get answers. Wait until you go for postop and get a copy of your surgical report to see exactly what was done and found and then go from there to pursue the continuing issue. Get some rest and concentrate on recovering and then go from there. (((hugs))))
My first one they just barely caught my endo. My pain was stemming from my right ovary fusing to my uterus, but that was all my surgeon saw. Thankfully she looked really close and found what she described as "pin head sized" spots of endo in my cul-de-sac. That surgery was only a half hour. Im seeing a specialist now (hes a bladder specialist but also deals w/endo) and he said diagnostic surgery's should be at least an hr or you risk missing things.
I know you'll get this figured out! Rest up, hope you heal well :-)
On the bright side of things I'm feeling much better today! Actually went out to a movie and going back home tomorrow.
