Sharp, stabbing pains a month after lap!

Hi everyone. I had a lap. For endo on Dec. 7. I started feeling better at 3 weeks. This weekend I am bleeding but it is very light, 2 weeks later than my normal period would have been. I am having low back and upper thigh pain. What is really bothering me are the sudden, very sharp pains I get off and on. I assume they must be where he removed endo, but they are so sudden and sharp that they take my breath away. My husband was startled yesterday when I was literally doubled over our couch. I am a teacher and I'm hoping I don't have this at work tomorrow, I teach reading to K and 1st graders. Is this a normal part of healing? Thanks

I had a lot of sharp and stabbing pains for a few months after my lap. You are where I was a year ago. (My lap was Dec 5 of 2011) LIke you, I was better for a few weeks and then had a lot of sharp and stabbing pains for Jan-March. Then they went away. I think the lap kind of irritated everything.

I am also an elementary teacher, so I know how hard it is to be in pain while teaching. I ended up telling a few people at school in case I did have the pains that double me over at school. It was helpful to know that someone else knew what was going on.

The first period after a lap can be more painful because your insides are still healing. Hope you feel better .

I had my first lap on december 4th. And still havent had a period. I hope you get better soon. I was always one that had severe pain associated with my periods. I don't think I could handle anything worse. I really hope you get some relief soon. Did anyone have spotting or bleeding after the surgery? My dr said i would but i didn't have a single ounce of it.

So sorry, yes it does happen, my first lap my period was ok, the second lap...that first period was hell.

I bled for a few days post-op, but I also quit my BC like 2 days before the surgery due to unrelenting bleeding & spotting so it might have made it worse. At first though I definitely had some surgery related bright red bleeding...think it just depends a lot on what they do and of course our bodies react to stress/invasive procedures differently.

The pain may be from the nerves affected by the surgery. The surgery may also have just triggered something. After all of my surgeries I've bled for 30-60 days.

Sorry I don't have an answer to what it is. If it continues it may be worth a call to the doctor. Hope that pain subsides for you.

I had alot of pain and also my periods last for 9 days so I had my doctor give me the shot first shot makes you spot alot but most amazing thing about the birth control shot is that it takes away the pain and painful cramps then after second or so shot don't really have a period. I have bad endometrosis I try for years taking birth control stop it from spreading and lupron shots but also don't ovulate either I don't know why either it sucks . But am here if you need someone talk to so far had two surgerys mostly cuz whenever start getting bad pain again my doctor would go back in and removed the scar tissue ...
