Hi ladies,
wanted to get on here to let you know how I am going. In my surgery my endometriosis and adhesions were everywhere I was absolutely covered in it, my ovaries were not visable due to endo and my uterus was covered with endo. It was the clear adhesions and endo, black spots and red spots just everywhere! I also had to have a right femeral cyst removed (a cyst on my artry removed). I am recovering well, just shoulder pain, but I have de-gas and heat sacks for it. I am also tired and tender but overall ok. Evidently my endo grows quite quickly so I am at a loss at whats next.
I hate endo! don't we all though?

Hope you are feeling a bit better with each passing day! Our situations are very similar- I had two excision surgeries within 4 months of eachother because I was in such terrible pain. The drs. didn't believe it was endo & diagnosed me with the whole gamut of related problems - pelvic floor spasms, IC, you name it.
I was originally stage 4 in August/2010 & during this last surgery December/2010, I was stage 3. This last dr. said it seemed to be old, deep, left over disease missed with the first excision surgery. I was so upset to think that in four months it had grown so much. I truly think it was a combination of disease left behind & a faulty ovary with new endometriomas causing the problem (they removed that ovary & tube in December) I think with every woman being different, I believe I needed these two surgeries practically back to back in order to clean everything out because the disease was EVERYWHERE. I am so much more confident that I won't have more problems at least for a while & not every four months again.
Also, a lot of my pain between these two surgeries was due to adhesions like yours was - I basically had a frozen pelvis. As we both know, once you cut them out, they usually grow right back where they were. I am just now starting to ween off of painkillers, five weeks post-op (i have been under the care of a wonderful, caring, pain specialist for quite a while). Although the pain is not as terrible as it was, I am definitely noticing some pain like I had before, I now know that this is adhesion pain. I am accepting the fact that this will probably always be the case but it is sooo much better than it was. I am now confident that I will be able to get pregnant & have a not as painful pregnancy (if I had done this before the last surgery as drs. had suggested I know I would have been in agony).
So try not to be so upset about what they found, think of it as your second chance surgery to REALLY clean out your endo - I think this is just what some of us need - its obviously never possible to get everything the first time - especially when its a bad case like ours.
So...rest, take care of yourself & think positive!!! This will be the end of your problems, hopefully for a long while. Instead of being upset, be grateful that you had the opportunity to have this surgery!! Its going to finally be a good year for us, I can feel it!!

This surgery was a look see, while I said can he take it all out (the endo via excision) I am not sure he did, I will find out post op (which I have to book on Monday) He probably did which is great but I can't tell you 100%, I will when I know. Considering he didn't believe it could come back so quickly and was so surprised I was back to square one so quickly I am not sure his plan of attack on the day. Im abit confused on the outcome but I'll know soon. Im almost positive he would have taken it out via excision though!

As much as I hate to say it, and I know I am recovering from surgery it is now 2 weeks post surgery and with 100% I know my endo is back -already. I know how it feels, and it feels like nothing ever changed as soon as I came out of surgery to now. It's "endo pain" - and now after 3 surgerys I think I can say with certaininty I know what the pain is like =( I am iffy on if he even took out the endo, with only 2 holes im not quite sure, usually I have 4. I'll find out at post op.
It also appears in my recovery I need a Kidney infection =( slow progress, but keeping positive.
Make sure you keep positive, it's so important! (but it's so hard too!).

I am hoping that they find something for you to work. I know you have it much worse than I do and this disease or whatever it is ... well it is NOT fair what it has done to us !!!
