Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
1. do not panic! keep breathing.
2. contact the pharmacy to see if you got the right meds
3. call your doctor to clarify what you were given and why.
my heart is with you on the ectopic pregnancy; so sorry to hear it. you can't conceive through the other ovary and tube, perhaps?
love and prayers to you.

Whitedeer- During my first surgery I had found out that my left ovary is no longer working. Now after my ectopic pregnancy I found out that my right Fallopian tube is very messed up and most likely will be tied off in my next surgery. This was the first time my doctor ever brought up In vitro or adoption with me. Thank you for your support and prayers. :)
whyme- As far as the "Cancer" thing goes, I have just spoke to many women who have been on Lupron, most say it made them worse. I have a friend Holly who is in Chemotherapy for her endo!! They are treating it like an aggressive cancer. What I was trying to say is usually when they start treating your Endo as if it were cancer by using cancer treatments... from what I have seen and heard from many other women.... things get a lot worse.
Thank you all for your support, its just been a hell of a week and Im tired of fighting something I feel like I will never win. :(
Hugs to you all,
Ashley Nicole

Ive had a talk with you before this and I am sorry this is all happening! =(
I've had a few doctors tell me for some women Endo can be just like cancer without the terminal ending. I've had many doctors tell me now my endo is bizzare and they've never/or rarely witnessed anyone who has such aggressive reoccuring endo. Basically I am now at the "give you medications to be comfterble" stage. Alot like cancer huh?
There's a few of us, apparantly not many though who need constant surgery and they just don't recommend it. If you've exhausted all the options...I think there comes a time with making peace with the world and the harsh realities. I know you'll be a wonderful aunt. And adoption is always an option (I know you have your own thoughts on IVF). It's a crushing feeling coming out the end knowing more is wrong then you ever thought possible, I remember that day well, I walked out of the doctors office to find out the list of issues and a hysterectomy would only solve 1/2 my issues, to then have an ultrasound to find my ovaries have cysts in them, I cried the entire day I couldn't see the fairness in it. But you are strong, smart, and determined. I know God will bless with you a child however you recieve him or her.
If you believe adoption is something for you, when you're ready I think you should try that route. Just my own personal opinion. Also, know I'm always here for a chat!
Thinking of you and sending my prayers and love!
*big hugs*

I understood what you were saying. I just didn't want you to get discouraged from that. I did lupron a few years ago. The first time it worked and the second time it didn't. It didn't make my case worse as far as I'm concerned. Everyone is different and everything affects use differently. I just don't want you to worry more because of the treatment you are on.

good luck

I wouldn't say you should freak out when they put you through medicine that treats both... I'd freak when they suggest chemo. ;)
There aren't many medications for the treatment of endometriosis, and a lot of the treatment options also piggyback treatments for other illnesses.
It doesn't always harm women, though. When you think about it, the people who try treatments and are unsuccessful, are also the most likely to seek out a support group (why would you search for one if you don't need it)?
I would definitely keep that in mind while considering whether or not this is something you want to go through. ^_^ You could consider making a post about megestrol on a site like Cafe Mom. You might get a balanced answer there. At the very least, you may be able to reach out people you would not have been able to find here.
-hugs!- I wish you the very best as you figure out where to go from here. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.
