Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
first off i think you are/have done too many kegal exercises. that is not helping your issue. Yes, it is worth giving it a try and yes a tight pelvic floor causes pain in pelvic area. Everything is connected. I found out through therapy that a muscle that run along the inside of my leg (on side of knee) was tight and causing some of the pain "up there". I don't think it can affect your peeing. I think your urether tube was probably irritated by the cather they put in during your lap. Did they release you withour making sure you could pee before you left the hospital?
Pelvic floor therapy is basical physical therapy for the pelvic floor. they manually stretch out the muscles (think stretching out a charlie horse in your leg). it is painful but it worth it because the results afterwards can be amazing.
I had my 6th lap Nov 5 2010 and for 4 weeks before and 4 weeks after i did pelvic floor therapy and i'm still fine to this day... and havent needed pain meds (except for when im on my cycle every 3 months) since Jan 2011.
I agree with whyme- I really don't think you should be doing that many exercises, I don't think it is helping and may actually be hurting you. For me personally, my pelvic muscles are so tight that I can barely do kegals any more, but I used to be able to. If it's causing your boyfriend problems when he sees you, I think that's a good indicator that you might be over-doing it. A few times a day is good, but anything in excess is not.
And for your last question, tightness in your pelvic floor will definitely cause pelvic pain!
