Finally got my referral for the pain specialist. Super friendly over the phone. Compared to what I'm used to that alone gives me hope! Looked the Dr up and he has great reviews! Just wish I didn't have to wait 2 weeks.but that also isn't bad. It takes me twice as long to get aan appointment with my normal docs!

Any advice to prepare myself to see this kind of specialist?

Had appt today. Waste of time. Told me its not endo because lupron works and the pain is only in pelvic area. Referred me to my pcm to be put on cymbalta and get referral to rheumatologist.

On my own I guess. That was Ny last hope. Other than pelvic floor therapy which is next week but don't hold huh expectations for that.

doctors suck. I'm seriously considering a campaign to medical universities. Our stories are so similar and our disease is so common. My uncle has MS, and he has a slew of amazing doctors.

Us? nope. Everyone wants to make it someone else's problem.

I'm sorry it was a waste of time, at least you didn't have to wait very long. I waited 3 months for an appointment with the #1 ob gyn hospital in the nation, only for her to tell me that my back problems did not involve the reproductive organs.

I feel like if you go to a doctor who doesn't know much about it, they are way off in their treatment. I would go to someone else. I've been doing pelvic floor therapy and after 2 months, I made very little progress. I'm hoping that since they took a bunch of endo off my pelvic floor, that will help things along. And Lupron does shrink it, but it doesn't make it go away! It's not a cure...that doctor sounds like a quack.

Had my pelvic floor therapy yesterday. First of.. woah!! Was not expecting all that haha! First few hours after I was really sleepy. Then really energized. As soon as I laid down for bed I started to feel sore. Woke up today... I must have been hit by a train! So sore throbbing sharp pain everywhere! Neck shoulders calves back arms... everywhere! I wont give up but I hope it goes away soon! Oh and she told me to cut back on smoking and caffiene and alcohol. I rarely drink but without other two how am I supposed to get through the day!? Haha

Ok, now i'm curious: what type of doc does pelvic floor therapy? I know it's not your typical PT, right? Also, who referred you?

There are core and pelvic floor physical therapists. I go to one in west Chester Ohio.

@ endowife. A pelvic floor therapist does the therapy. It is like physical therapy but for your pelvic area. Some require a referral from a gyn and others you can make an appt yourself.
