Operation in a weeks time

I am booked in for a laparoscopy in one weeks time. I am so happy but feeling pretty nervous at the same time. I am hoping that they can remove any endometriosis I have in this operation, so I don't have to have another one! I would be interested to know if anyone who has had the operation knows how long the recovery might take? I am an early childhood teacher so have taken a week off as am up and down a lot at work.

I had a Lap Back in June on a Thursday and was back to work on Monday! The only pain I really had was from the "gas" and that was in my shoulders mostly, so just try to get up and walk around the day or so after surgery. The actual incisions didnt hurt too bad. I'm having my first lap this coming Monday. I'm nervous too, I took the week off as my job is very physical. Better safe than sorry.

Oh great - that's good to know, thanks! Hopefully I only have the shoulder pain too - I have read about that:-)

Hi there!
I'm having my first lap in two weeks and giving myself two weeks, I'm also getting my appendix removed. I hope you and everyone on here undergoing lap procedures have a healthy and speedy recovery. Prayers and hugs!

Hello:) I just had my lap done in April,and i agree with TJahlas, walking is key to a good recovery!It hurts, but getting that gas out is a God send;) I wish you very good luck,and I hope you get the answers you need!{{hugs}}

I wish you the best of luck with your surgery. It took me about a week before I felt like myself again. I had quite a bit of shoulder pain from gas and was tender in my pelvic area. I also felt a lot of fatigue but I would still push myself to go for walks everyday and I always felt better afterword.

When I had my lap, I had the surgery on a Thursday and was back at work on Monday. Take it easy for a couple days, but I agree with everyone else- take lots of walks to help with the shoulder pain. You will do great :)
