Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Hi, I’m new and I was hoping I could share some of my symptoms to see if any of you think I have endometriosis. I never had bad periods until last year. I had my period and felt so sick I had to stay in bed all day. My periods continued to get more painful and heavier over the last two years, and really caught my attention last May when I had to go to the ER the first day of my period. I felt weak, extreme abdominal pain, sweating to uncomfortable shivering, panic, and constipated. They basically said I’d just been dehydrated. It happened again in October. Same symptoms and I was found to have UTIs both times. Once again they said it was nothing to worry about and prescribed naproxen for the pain. Since then I take naproxen as soon as I start and haven’t had to go to the ER since. It has become common in the last few months for me to miss class/work on the first day of my period even with the pain meds. This April my period was worse than it’d been since my last ER visit and although I took my meds, I came home after class, canceled work and had to rest all day, but I felt bad the first theee days and flow was very heavy. I didn’t start getting energy back after that period until the week after I’d stopped. Then this week I have been spotting and although I know That can happen during ovulation, it’s never happened to me. I asked my doctor if she thought I may have endometriosis and she assured me I don’t, but I haven’t had a pelvic exam done and it seems I have a lot of the symptoms, so I was just wondering if you think it sounds like I have it?
Thanks so much!
