Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.

I really need advice. I am sooo sorry this is so long!!!
I am not sure where to look or where to even start. I am 26 and never had children. A few years ago I was diagnosed with hpv had a colposcopy to check, nothing was really abnormal, and now I have had more than 3 normal paps. I have had horrible horrible cramps practically since I started my period when I was 12. Well, I had free state health insurance and the obgyn said it was nothing to worry about and that because I was having normal periods and normal bleeding that everything was ok. Well I finally was able to get insurance. I started going to this obgyn and he seems to be on top of it. I am obese and he wanted me to have a ultrasound just to check everything out because its harder to feel the ovaries and things on a obese patient than it is on a thinner patient. The first ultrasound showed a hemoragic cyst on my right ovary. He seemed to not be too concerned, but wanted to do another ultrasound. well he did an ultrasound at his office, and it showed both ovaries were normal but something came up funny on my uterus.
So we waited 6 weeks which was this past Wednesday and he showed me how the lining in my uterus is thicker than normal and also that it should be 'straight' and mine was weird shaped, maybe has polyps, but seems to be abnormal. He looked at my left ovary and it was covered in cysts I could see them on the ultrasound. I am not on any birth control. I have a rare brain disease that I am not sure I can even take birth control or hormones.
He mentioned putting me on progesterone and then doing another ultrasound. If the ultrasound is clean then we will be fine. If not then go in and do a d&c and a laproscopic surgery to see why im in so much pain at least 3 weeks a month.
Does anyone have any advice. I am not sure what this even is, if its cancer, precancer ect. please help!! thank you

Sounds a little like what I went thru. I used to be extremely over weight and had cysts on my ovaries and had poly cystic ovarian syndrome. However I lost 60 pounds and the PCOS went away. A few month laterr I was in extreme pain every day with cramps. Since I'm so young no one knew what it could be. I had been on birth control since I was 13 and I am now 16. Finally someone agreed to take a look and do laparoscopy and found endometriosis. What your describing sounds like endo. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about! Stay positive!

I have a very different experience, but I can tell you that I was on progesterone for 4 years and I hated it! I gained 50lbs in a year, developed a liver condition because of the weight gain and fat content in my body, and went through extreme menopausal symptoms. I would recommend trying something else, especially if you have problems with your weight. It was really scary to find out that my liver was effected (luckily I cut out all red meat and it went away). I am having my first lap too and it is kind of scary, but just know that anything you do is hopefully a step toward recovery! I wish you all the best!

I am so sorry you are dealing with this!!! I used to have the free health care in AZ, and let me tell you those doctors aren't the greatest. One doctor let me go off my birth control for 2 months, and I went to the hospital because I bled so bad!! It definatly sounds like Enod. What worries me is the fact htey found a bunch of cysts on yer ovary and didn't seem too concerned. I hope you are able to get a lap does so you have some answers and less pain. Good luck!!
