Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
First note: I'd be leery of anything purporting to have "No side effects", as they list on their homepage. EVERYTHING you ingest has potential for side effects.
The three main ingredients to Fibrovan, per their website, are:
* Nattokinase
* EGCG
* Lycopene
I know we are all desperate for relief and a cure to this horrible disease, but please do some research first, before rushing out to get the latest advertised drug or herb on the market.
It was recommended for me for example to avoid soy completely, and to get ALL estrogen removed from my body, the disease is so bad. I have refused Lupron injections, and I had to refuse the Petal study because they too use "Lupron-based" injections. I cannot take the stuff. I cannot handle synthetic hormones, either.
Now, Nattokinase, the main ingredient in Fibrovan, is SOY BASED. So if your doctor has strongly suggested staying away from natural and/or synthetic estrogens, then stay away from Fibrovan. Soy contains natural estrogen.
Not only that, but in direct conflict to Fibrovan's marketing, Nattokinase CAN in fact produce side effects. Read http://altmedicine.about.com/od/nattokinase/p/nattokinase.htm for more information.
For soy in general, check out http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/soy/NS_patient-soy
As to the ingredient EGCG, check out http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/green-tea/NS_patient-green_tea and http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/53704.php
And for the Lycopene, check out http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/lycopene/NS_patient-lycopene
There's more out there, all you have to do is search the web and ALWAYS ask your health counselor, doctor, friends, etc. Get as much feedback as possible before just jumping into something that could potentially be bad or harmful to you.
We may all have the blanket diagnosis or symptoms of Endometriosis, but it is NOT the same experience for each of us. It's that much of a moving target, so to speak.
I just want you all to remain awake and aware, and not blindly follow advertisements, whether it's on TV, a written ad, advice from your alternative health practitioner, doctor or surgeon.
Learn to know yourself and to trust yourself. You know what will ultimately help you. Bring others into alignment with YOUR needs, rather than trying to bring yourself into alignment with others' suggestions and treatments.
I hope that helps.
