The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Hey everyone
The past couple of months I have been having different types of bowel issues. Usually I am a constipated person, go a couple times a week. When my period is on its way, my bowels go crazy for about two weeks, I go multiple times a day, all different consistencies, feel like I have to go but nothing comes out our a small amount does, noticeable mucus, sometimes cramps which go away once I'm able to go. (Again sorry tmi). But they aren't anything like I'm used to.
The tuesday after memorial day I decided to go to my GP, who though it was either Endo related and to see my OB and he referred me to a Gasterologist (who can't get me in for another month).
So I went to my OB who said it was Endo related..and possible the start of IBS. She said I was too young for bowel cancer, and with my symptoms she didn't think it could be anything but Endo related.
My question is, does anyone else have this, should I go with my OB or still see the gasterologist? If you have similar symptoms, how do you know for sure why causes it? And what symptoms do you have, don't worry about TMi, I'm lookin for anything to calm my anexity!
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated ;-)

My colonoscopies (which I'm required to have every 2 years) show "elongated, loopy colon" with signs of diverticulosis. I also have a "crimp" in my colon on the left side that prevents normal passage of stool. It causes painful distention and bloating (visible) in that side. Without softeners/stimulants, I would have no "normal" bowel movements. Thankfully...if I am to believe doctors (which I don't) lesions have not yet invaded my interior colon. There is narrowing, which is probably from adhesions binding my colon.
SORRY for the long post. THIS is SO COMPLICATED, as you all know. It's wise to keep the GI appointment, but it won't show you anything more about the disease (unless it has grown through the lining of your colon). This disease IMO should be dealt with by GYNs, GIs and UROs as a partnership...rather than pointing fingers at each other.
