I had the shots they worked great for a year but 5 months after I was off the shots and I got my period the endo was back

The side effects scared me more than the disease. I refused to take it.

I hate this. The first time I was suppose to get my second shot it snowed so I had to wait a week. Ok so I dont think that would hurt well when I went in to get it the doctor came in and told me I had to wait another damn week in order to get it. I'm still waiting for it to come in. Both my ovaries are hurting me so badly. I wonder what this is doing to my insides to wait like this. I hate it that it should of already been here but no they didnt freakin order it until I was there and they were all like Oops. Pissing me off. I have to suffer for two weeks. I really dont think its helping much anyway. I havent had surgery yet and that word really scares me but I really do think that this Lupron will not help me. I will wait it out for all 6 months to see for sure but I think it will not help. We'll just see but until then I will pray for us all. *hugs*

I have tried Lupron a couple times and it's only worked for the first few weeks and then "wears off". Also, I am only 24, but I recently got a bone density scan done and I just found out I have osteopenia (bone density loss). At age 24!!! So please, take calcium supplements while you're on it.

I just got my first shot on Jan 31st. The constant pain was still there and I was getting stabbing pains for the first two weeks. I have also experienced nausea and haven't had much of an appetite. The appetite might just be how I am since I don't eat very well to begin with, but it seems to be worse lately. I have been kicking the covers off at night because it's too hot, and have been feeling "too hot" here and there, but I haven't had anything in that area that has been too intolerable yet... Yesterday and today I have had whole body aches. I didn't think that the body aches or nausea were related to the Lupron becuase none of the literature that I was given says anything about that and neither does their web site and of course my doctor didn't mention it, but he also didn't tell me ('till I asked) that the pain would get worse for awhile. I thought maybe I was getting sick, but I whined about it on here today, and have been told that I am not the only one that has experienced this. The same with the nausea, I read chrissy36's post, and I'm thinking OK, so that could be related to the Lupron too?!! Today the pain has been worse than usual and it may sound strange, but it feels like it will be worse before it's better. I hope I'm wrong. I have had a lot of headaches too, but nothing more than without the shot, they're just a little harder to deal with because of everything else that hurts. I will keep you all posted as my treatment continues.

Well I got my second shot but I am still hurting like all get out. The pain can from anywhere from a 5 to a 7 at times. Me no think shot is helping me out at all. My doctor said if it wasn't helping then I would be taken off of it and something else with be done. My doctor and a friend of my brothers father said that the only way it might all truly go away is if I had a kid. IM 19 YEARS OLD! I'm a little young but they said to deal with it now that way your better off for your future. Uh, HELLOOOOOOOOO! Again I just got out of high school last year and I will start working again next month. I DONT NEED THAT! But, if I get takin off the shot I am horrifyed of the word surgrey. I had knee surgrey like two years ago cuz I tore my ACL! DONT EVER DO THAT! And ever sense then I have also been on pain pills. I have a problem with my left shoulder too so if I am not takin the pain pills for the endo then I am for either my shoulder or knee. Its not fun to be falling apart like this all at once and yet I some how when I am around people I keep a smile going on my face. Everyone who knows me, if I dont have a smile upon my face then there is something terribly wrong. But, anyway I just thought should I go ahead and go talk to my doctor about this or should I just wait it out this month and tell them when I see them for my third shot?

Hello my name is Tasha cottrell im eighteen years old and I have severe endo. My doctor wants me to go on Lupron but im not sure.

I just got my first shot today. My doctor is having me take the additional estrogen tablet to offset any side effects. He assures me that I will not experience these side effects. I'm very scared based upon what I'm reading. I just had laporostic surgery where he removed 25 lesions. Can anyone confirm that the estrogen tablet helped them not have symptoms?

I was put on Lupron right after my laporoscopy to remove the endometrium that wasn't were it should have been(as you all know) I did 6 months of it. It was nice not to have the pain of a period (which are horrible for me) but the hot flashes and mood swings were aweful! After the Lupron I was give the ortho-cyclen birth control (the pill) and told to skip the last 7 placebo pills, thereby not having a period and passing that endometrium. For me that worked better than the Lupron b/c he basically did the same thing only without the side effects.

My doctor and I just decided to stop the Lupron. I had 5 of the 6 shots and it didn't work. I'm in more pain than I was when I was just on birth control. The hot flashes aren't horrible for me because they've been pretty short and it's been easy to cool myself down. The mood swings? :( Not fun! The doc put me on an anti-depressant and that has helped a LOT! I am going to talk to him about staying on it even though we're not doing the Lupron. I also hate being SO tired all the time. I am usually tired anyway, so the additional decrease in my energy level is awful. I usually can't sleep in the middle of the day, but in these last 5 months I have slept at every chance I've gotten!
So, I didn't have a great experience with it, but I didn't think that the side effects were that bad. The worst part was that I was getting the shots, taking more pills, paying for those pills, and all I got was more pain.

I took one shot of Loupron. I have had steady lower back pain and headaches since. I haven't had a period but I have still had all of the symptoms - I almost ate a whole chocolate cake with chocolate ising the other night, I get real moody and cry at a drop of a hat, LOL. My doctor said I could drive 4-5 hours away in 3 months and get 1 more shot but that was it because I have such high blood pressure. I don't think I will take another. I will go to my doctor closer to home in 3 months and see what he says. As for the side affects - I had them all before the shot so its no different except Im not bleeding so the pain from that is gone. I have problems going to the bathroom and hemmoroids. I get heartburn at anything. Sometimes I feel as though my skin is on fire!!!!!

I have had two shots so far (I'm only going to do three months as of now). The first shot was awful. I had really bad vision and concentration problems. It stopped my period, which was nice. I am moody, I have very bad hot flashes now, not to mention EXTREME BLOATING and I still have pain in spurts... It's not as constant as it was before, which is good, but when my pain does hit, it is severe. I don't know right now if it was worth it.

I was on lupron after my surgery for 3 months. I also had BAD hot flashes, mood swings and headaches. As for the pain it was gone because there was no period, but since getting off the shot in Dec. My periods have been worse and more painful.

Everyone keeps talking about the Loupron shot - third and forth shot.....my doctor will not give me but 2 shots because of my high blood pressure? Then what? I seem to be alot older then most of you - I am thirty something, LOL. I have the early menapuse signs, the colon problems, the leg cramps, the everything....I dont wanna keep getting older cause every year its something else. ENDO IS BAD NEWS!!!!!
