Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
I had my lap done about two weeks ago, when I was on af. It really shortened my period- I was on day two and it pretty much was gone by day 4-5. So, I was wondering what it may do to my cycle this month. Will I ovulate later than normal? If I get af, will it be later too? I had endo removed and am wondering if my body will be messed up for awhile trying to heal itself. If anyone has been thorough this, I would appreciate hearing about your experience. Thanks so much!

I had the surgery June 5/07. The doctor put me on clomid the first cycle after. I ended up having only a 21 day cycle which is very strange for me. I think that the surgery had something to do with it, so I'll try again next cycle. I'm sure it takes a while for everything to get back to normal while its healing. Good luck to you!

Hi! I had surgery in November '06, the first time and my periods were the exact same (7-8 days) but just without the pain, which was just amazing. I ovulated at the same time that I usually would. So that's what happened with me. Take care!

Hi Kim, I had my lap & pelviscopy done june 15th 2007, at that time they removed my left ovary and found that I had endo. My last period was May 25th and I did not have a cycle until July 13th I was very concerned as to why I it took so long. I called my doc and asked if having this procedure would have me off schedule and he said that it would affect it. He said if I didn't have a cycle within the next few weeks he would call in a prescription to help me start. Luckily I started and had a very light, pain free cycle for about 4 days stopped for a day and started back up for 2 more. So needless to say it may take a while to get back to normal but hopefully it will be much better for you if you were in any kind of pain before. Take Care Amy :)

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
