In your description you talked about being told to "breathe through the pain" and I actually do this, lol. thank you for the link it is very encouraging. :)

Whats funny is I was told to do this for what the doctor called "a normal period" Now that I know what the concept is I find myself doing that often. :)

Just wondering how you are feeling since your surgery? I remember your hubby was on here writing comments for you while you were recovering....seems like such a great guy! I'm having surgery by an endo specialist next week.

Been feeling a bit better. The first week after surgery is the worse. I have pains on my right side almost everyday, but that was even before the surgery. I just have learned to walk it off. :) Thank you by the way, my husband is amazing... he knows how important my support group is to me and he wanted to let you all know how I was doing, he takes good care of me :) Im very lucky to have him.

I hope you surgery goes well, and you have a speedy recovery. Here are a few pointers. Im not quite sure if this is your first surgery.


The first 4 days you will need help getting up and down. Its unbelievable how often we use our midsection and don't realize it.

They use CO2 gas to expand your abdomen... this gas hurts really bad the first few days until it absorbs in your body. Try to move around a little bit, and pick up some peppermint tea! The gas will trap itself under your shoulders, neck and face. I wish someone would have warned me. Make sure you also have a lot of pillows to prop you up :)

Dont forget to pick up pads, most women use tampons normally but you cant after the surgery. So just make sure you have a package on hand.

Other than that, make sure you get a lot of rest and you take your pain meds as prescribed. After about a week you will start to feel better. Do yourself a favor, I myself got really restless around day 4 and I started cleaning the house... and I was moving around to much. I started to bleed really bad from it.

You have to understand that even if you feel okay to go back to yourself... your insides have had a lot of trauma and if you move around too much or too fast it can cause bleeding.

I am so grateful and tearing up right now typing but I feel blessed to have stumbled across this group, the last week I have spent online has mostly been on this site. I am the worst I have been so far with this torturing condition. I was supposed to start the Lupron but the case that came in was Damaged...a sign?

Pollyz- I would take it as a sign, I know a few women who did well on Lupron. However I have heard countless stories on the negative effects of the drug. All I suggest with any treatment... is do your homework before starting. :) Im glad you enjoyed my website!

Thanks so much for the tips. This will be my second surgery. I did have terrible CO2 pains the second day. So the peppermint tea helped you the with those pains? I'll do anything to avoid that.

I would take that as a sign. I am scared to death of Lupron. I saw you mentioned you wish you could see an endo specialist. I'm seeing one next week. If you have any questions, please message me :)

I am new to this group and all ready I am LOVING THIS!!!
"pollyz" I just finished 6 months of lupron and I was just like you(I have read some of your other things :) ) read bad things but thought that I could handle it which i did BUT I WOULD NEVER DO IT AGAIN!!!! I pray that you will have a GREAT experience with it if you decide to do it...but now that i have been done with it for about 3 months and have had time to step back and weigh it and truly I would say i was just a miserable on the med as i was off it! The hot flashes and mood swings WERE AWFUL...i went through this medication all planning my wedding we all joked if my husband still married me we would be able to make it through anything lol !! And i would actually still get pain my pain is primarily on my right side(which is where i ALWAYS have had my pain). Now that i am finished I will admit the pain isnt curl over every single day but it wasnt worth it..... but I still have hot flashes WHICH SUCK!!!!

I do have to give a shout out to the endo specialist Dr. David Redwine. He did my surgery this past September which was successful. I noticed he was not listed on your site.

I also found endometriosis.org and Endoresolve to be helpful sites too.
