Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Try and keep your chin up hun!
I'm sorry you're feeling this way. I can definitely sympathize, I feel this way a lot too. Other people (who don't have endo and such) can try to say they understand, or try to say things to make you feel better but most of the time it really doesn't help. For me, I usually end up feeling even worse, because I know that the people around me will never really "get it".
It's so easy to feel alone, it has been a huge struggle for me lately and that is why I joined this board. It's also important to remember that there are many things other people are going through that we don't understand either. Everyone has their own personal battles. Sometimes all we can do is try our best to explain how we feel to other people, for me talking about it really does help.
I really do believe that having gone through all of this will only make us all stronger women. :) Hope you're feeling more comfort today, it's a new day! :)
I'm sorry you're feeling alone. Lean on us more, k? Private message us or instant message us because you are RIGHT. People don't get it. They just don't.
My mom says the most insensitive things and I just want to kick her in the butt, but I can't because she's my mom. My co-workers look at me like "isn't the worst over already?" and here I am on the side still going through this crap.
Therapy helped. I feel less alone through a good therapist. This group helps. Relaxation techniques help (like yoga).
But all in all it's the soul searching within ourselves which will help the most. We are now broken, it's official. Our docs have tagged us as having a disease. Now how do we deal with that? How do we protect ourselves from the insensitive comments? This is the question that I struggle with on a weekly basis.
This week, I'm not going to a Christmas party because I know insensitive people will be there. Also, if my mom says something insensitive, I will respond quickly and tell her "I appreciate what you're saying, I'm just in a sensitive place and would prefer if you not make comments about my condition right now."
Shew! Guess I had a lot to say. Hang in there, you're not alone, I'm here too to help.
Endo is a really complicated disease, I hardly understand it myself, so it's really hard for other people to understand. They think it's like month-long period cramps or something, but it's more pain than that, and it affects almost every part of your life.
I hope you're feeling better soon!
