Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Fingers crossed.
I felt like I needed to post a reply on the experience I had with this diet and endo. My nurse/midwife recommended this diet because she saw cysts on my ovaries. I did this diet extremely strict for about 10 months. I did lose about 30 lbs however my condition only worsened with my cysts. I finally went to my uncle a radiologist who said I was a mess inside and told me to see a specialist. The specialist said I needed a laparoscopy immediately. By the time of the surgery I had stage 4 endo, with large endometriomas on both ovaries, and my tubes were so damaged they had to be removed later. I got pregnant with my son with no problems but because my midwife recommended this diet instead of actually treating the endo my endo worsened and made it so that I could only get pregnant via IVF.
I just wanted to retell my story because I would hate someone else go through the pain I did and Hell of IVF to get pregnant. The diet is great to lose weight but does NOT treat endo. If you feel better on the diet that is great but don't stop taking hormone treatment for your endo. I wish you the best!
