Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.

I just found this link and was reading through it. I love anything written by Dr. David Redwine, but this was extremely interesting. The link contains excerpts from his report against Lupron during a liability lawsuit.
So if anyone's considering Lupron or similar drugs you might want to check out some of the lawsuits (especially the more current ones). I believe there was one that went to federal court that's being appealed (From around August 2011)
I think Dr. Redwine also gave a pretty good summary of his opinion about Lupron in the investigative report by Darcy Spears called "Overpriced Poison" (it's on Youtube). He doesn't speak in-depth about the insurance fraud or fraudulent data, but he gives a nice cliff-notes version.

I vow to never take Lupron for endo. Hopefully I can stick to this.
I don't really know about it's use in IVF because I was only pushed Lupron for endometriosis treatment.
I printed out Lupron's criminal/civil rap sheet so the next time a doctor pushes for Lupron I can whip it out. The cases are actually really interesting (and disturbing) to read.
Now when a doctor pushes Lupron though I'm wondering, okay, does this guy just NOT know anything about the drug he's prescribing (which is possible but scary) or is he one of those doctors getting a 100,000 "grant" for prescribing it.
At least most of the info is available online now and it's public record. It makes researching so much easier.
And I learned some good tips from these cases. If you're being prescribed a mediation (1) check out foreign warning labels (Lupron's label apparently varied in other countries) (2) Check to make sure that studies cited aren't retracted/fabricated (i.e. Retraction Watch) (3) Check to see how much your doctor gets paid by drug companies (http://projects.propublica.org/docdollars/)
Adkgirl...I had 2 of the 3-month 11.25mg shots..horrible!
Jessnichole...I took all the hormone replacement 'add back' stuff and it didnt help, at all.
I will absolutely never do the Lupron or Provera shots ever again!!
