Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
I started having pain I believe in late 2010. It wasn't too bad at first, but slowly got worse and worse. I finally saw my current doctor around June of 2011, who eventually diagnosed me with endo (or rather speculated that I had it) around that time, and started me on birth control and pain medication. I had surgery with him in December of 2011, and still see him about once a month. I will start physical therapy in late September in a few months, but honestly I'd like to have surgery again if the physical therapy doesn't do anything. I am hoping that one of those two things will help me, and I am also hoping that once I get pregnant maybe I will receive some relief. I would just hate to be in this much pain after I have the baby, though.
Hope that helps :-)
