Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Im an emotional mess. I need your advice on how to deal with this. My best friend thinks I should tackle it head on, but it's a difficult situation.
The situation:
Jases little sister has been told she has PCO - She has 9 cysts on one ovary and 3 on the other, they will come and go and the doctor stupidly told her she might have issues having children. Then later told her they'll come and go and she might not have trouble with them later on.
My issue now is this...EVERYONE she tells she finishes with practically telling them she's infertile.
I can't deal with this...
Does she have any idea who throwing around infertility hurts?
I'm a mess with endometriosis, Adenomyosis and cysts, I am getting my blood done over the next two weeks to see if i have my mums heriditry blood disorder. It's very VERY real that we could find it hard to a) get pregnant and b) stay pregnant. I have so much hope so I try to never speak of it, I like to think we will be lucky and blessed and these are setbacks for us to be thankful for a miracle.
If she knew how heart renching infertility is/could be she wouldn't be chucking it around like it means nothing.
If 3 cysts in 1 ovary and 9 in the other that will more than likely dissolve the doctor said after reviewing her case, and will cause her no more issues then some intense pain, then why do this. Why!? I called my mum up a completely mess saturday, how can people be so effing insensitive. Infertility isn't airy fairy, it's very very serious.
Her best friend then proceeded to tell me she'll have her kids for her if she can't because she's overly infertile being 18/19 with 3 abortions up her sleave. WTF!?!?!?!?
I came into the PC room and tried not to break down again.
I feel so horrible on the inside, I feel sick to my stomach.
Why the one gift I'd give my right leg for no one else seems to cherish. If I were in her position (jases little sister) id' be thanking God he only gave me pain.
I know I sound like "poor me poor me" - I am trying to be supportive of whats happening with her, but I've had many friends with PCO*S* tell me/her she has nothing to worry about really. Yet she continues with it..
Please, I know I am being horrible and selfish, but I need to know how do you cope with this? My heart is breaking.

But, in all do respect, it's not that i havn't researched, I've been dealing with all this for 12 years this year and I'll be 21 in August, I've been through doctors, I've searched and searched. I know they can say one thing and miracles happen. This is what I live off, miracles =)
Christine - haha, I've done that a few times before too :P It's VERY annoying!
It's guess work, accompanied by examining the uterus, taking samples etc etc. As you said it can't be 100% confirmed untill a hysterectomy. But they apparantly can get pretty close to figure it out these days - which is good!
None of my cysts have ever dissolved so I don't know that pain...They've always grown extremely large to the point of almost bursting and being caught in my lap, or they've burst. I know thats not pretty!
She's 18 - 19 in August also.
