Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Anyone else have hemorrhoids? I got my first external one this week and it is so painful! I had no idea they could be this painful! It bleeds off and on all day, too. I called my gi doc and he wants to do a banding procedure to remove it.
I was wondering if this has anything to do with endo? It popped up right as I was starting my period. I have a gyn appt this week, so I could bring it up....but it's just so embarassing!!!! I'm tired of having issues that are too awkward to talk about! :-o

if you have problems with hemorrhoids but you are looking for cheap and surgery-less solutions - you should read book by a woman who also suffered from hemorrhoids but now she doesn't - this is a review for you to help in your own opinion
I wouldn't say that endometriosis causes the hemorrhoids. However, the relentless constipation that often accompanies the disease is the culprit. Yes, I've had both internal and external hemorrhoids, as well as fissures (cracks/splits inside the rectum) YOWZER!?!? The fissures healed with HC/Lido suppositories which will also help your painful bum. One of the internal hemorrhoid became a thrombosis--blood clot--that had to be lanced and cauterized. I've had 2 surgeries to specifically remove them. It definitely eased the internal, but the external are just another "love note" scribbled into my body's journal.
My post is entirely too long...sorry. I digress often. Your hemorrhoid must be significant if the doctor wants to do "banding". I'm not familiar with the book that Kate recommended, but I'm always an ADVOCATE for arming oneself with knowledge. I would certainly check it out. Best of luck to you.

I went to the doctor to see if I had a hemorrhoid and she wanted to ask permission bring in a student doctor in, I said go right ahead, everyone has seen my bits and pieces, what's one more?
The student doctor. was a guy who graduated high school with me, and now has to see my ass, and said Yes you have a hemorrhoid....
I will never forget that. But I do think it relates to endo because of the constipation from painkillers and other medications. I was so constipated one day, it hurt my vagina including my 2 hemorrhoids. Talk about a nightmare.
Glad I'm not alone! It's so embarrassing, but AmericanGirl I think your story tops all. No way would I want a guy I sorta knew looking in there!

I always use to get those young male students but thank goodness I knew not one of them. lol
Hotchocolate, I also have gotten fissures from the constipation of endo and they are brutal. When ever I think it will heal it seems to rip open again followed by blood--always. I fear my BMs.
