Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.

I have read all the pamphlets and information I have on Zoladex and none of them say anything about when your period should return. I have a feeling it will be a while because it will take time for the drugs to get out of your system. Another thing i read was that if you enter real menopause - not just from the Zoladex that your periods wont return. Sorry I cant be more helpful - I am hoping someone can help because I am soon facing the same problem!!
Good luck and let me know how things are going with you.
Laura.
I just noticed ur post after submitting a similar one about zoladex treatment. My last injection with zoladex was the 9th of june and my husband and I ceased treatment after 3 months to try for another baby, however I have not had a period since then. I was told to expect a period after a month of treatment but nothing. Like u I am getting all of the symptoms of a period but no bleeding. I took a pregnancy test 3wks ago just in case but it was negative but still no period :( I just want to know whats going on! I have a Dr's app on monday so will mention this to him I just don't want to have to go on more hormones to kickstart my ovaries.. Have u had any luck in finding a solution to this problem?
Thanks,
Chloe :)
I was just wondering if you had any success and if your cycle resumed since your last post?
But I do know what you are going through, the injections are awful having those implants put in your stomach every 4 weeks, total menapause brought on, hot flushes were unbearable.
And after going through all my ops, I'm pretty sure my endo is back in my bowels, because the pain is the same as before, I was told that I would get days when it was painful due to being so severe.
Just wanted to thank you all for your posts and wanted to give you an update.
The past 3 weeks have been hell and I haven't been able to leave the house etc etc, to be honest it was just like the injections all over again.
So yest morn at 6am, I woke up with awful pains again so off I go to the loo and FINALLY, exactly 5 months and 2 weeks to the day of my last injection, my period has finaly started. So even though everythings hurting like hell right now I feel so relieved. It's as if I see it as the next step in my recovery now. Thats the way I'm tryin to look at it anyway.
As for my next step treatment wise, the docs want me to do the injections again for another 6 months even though they didn't work and they want me to have the Mirena. I've told them no on both counts. I'm having physiotherapy, counselling and seeing a homoeoepathist who specializes in endo and honest to god girls, he knows more about it than any specialist I've ever met. So, taking things day by day now and trying to keep my chin up!
Thank you all so so much for your help and support and I hope things have managed to move on for those of you who have been in the same boat as me. As I've said before, if anyone wants to chat more about this jst send me a mail and I'll help as much as I can
Thank you all again girls and take care xxxxx
