Hi, my name's Mia and I have stage IV endo.

Okay, I am desperate for a doctor in Western New York (around the Buffalo, NY area) that actually has a clue about endometriosis. So far I've been to a few local "specialists" only to find out they're either morons, or they only push Lupron, Lupron, and more Lupron.

I'm willing to travel farther out too (I went to two doctors in Little Falls and Rochester). So I'd be willing to drive a couple of hours (I'll even cross over into Canada -- I'm not far from Niagara Falls).

So does anyone have any leads on a good endo specialist in the WNY area? I'm getting kind of tired of hearing Lupron or "shoot out some babies that'll cure yah" lol I don't really want a doctor that prescribes pregnancy (I think my boyfriend had a minor heart attack on that one).

All the ones they had in NY were NYC. Not sure how up to date the info is but worth a looking into to!

Hi Mia,

Heres a Dr. i found in Rochester, I know its still a little bit of a travel, buts i believe Rochester is on the way to Buffalo, and maybe 2 hours away? I think 2 hours is worth it for a great surgery. Anyway, Heres his info if you're interested; he sounds really great;

Thanks for the replies felana and yankees8. Yeah, I can make it to Rochester in about 1.5 or 2 hrs. So that's not too bad. I'll definitely checkout those names.

I was going to go all the way to NYC (I was looking into Dr. Tamer Seckin), but I thought I'd look into a specialist a little closer to home first.

Oh, I saw Dr. Seckin, and very honestly and bluntly, he was terrible, so Im glad you didnt drive 8 hours down here to see him. He hurt me, and i saw him 2 years ago, and he gave me such a hard transvaginal ultrasound he bruised my coccyx, and i still cant sit on hard places. And while me and my husband were in his office talking about a possible surgery, this is before i knew he hurt me, he picked up a personal call from Turkey and spoke for 15 min in front of us. There was more i wont go on, but he was horrible.
It sounds like that Dr. Howard in Rochester might be great. Good luck, I really hope he can help you!

@yankees8, thanks for the tip on Dr. Seckin. I was on the fence about seeing him. He had like a 50/50 rating. Half of the people hated him, and half of the people liked him. The only reason I was considering him was b/c he I saw him associated with Dr. Harry Reich, and he's done work with the Blossom Ball. But some of the bad reviews left me nervous (nothing worse than traveling far to meet the doctor and have him be a jerk or a moron).

And ouch! I just got over a bruised coccyx (from weight lifting). Transvaginal ultrasounds are already bad enough.
