Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
The constipation you're currently experiencing could be from being sick. After being "cleaned out" so to speak, it can take a few days to get back on track. Like you, I experience frequent loose stools and days where I have to go right away and it's very loose. No specific reason I can pin-point it to. When I have a particularly bad day of it, it may take a couple of days before I have another movement.
Also, anytime you change your diet it can cause digestive disturbances.
I'd highly recommend a probiotic. I started taking Natrol brand probiotic beads in the beginning of July and have seen a good improvement in my digestive symptoms. I take one every morning with water when I first get up. It hasn't solved all of my issues, but I will take any help I can get!
Keep us posted on if the gluten free diet helps. I know others have posted on here before that it helped them, so good luck!!
I always suggest an elimination diet. The one that helped me the most was the "fodmap" diet but there are others out there you can try.
If you want to be sure, there is a gluten tolerance test you can do. I believe a doctor has to prescribed it. Otherwise, you can try eating spelt. I am allowed that as it is easier to digest than regular wheat. Life saver for me, as I don't know what I'd do without spelt tortillas! :)
I had 1 period so far since changing my diet and it was one of the easiest periods I've had in a LONG time, no crazy diarrhea or constipation and much reduced back pain. My next period is supposed to start tomorrow so here's hoping it's like my last one.
Thanks again ladies for your input!
