Last year I had my left ovary and tube removed...I was tender but I didn't find it overly harder than my other surgeries. You can still fall pregnant without tubes (although obviously much much harder) it's not impossible though...You'll have the ovary and it'll produce the egg it's just unlikely to make it to the uterus...but in saying that I have a family member in my partners family still fall pregnant...and a friends little sister was born that way too! (so you know, unlikely but not impossible!)


Just take it easy...but for me compared to other surgeries nothing to note it being exceptionally difficult.

Thank you for the advice! I am glad to hear that it didn't add extra pain for you. I am hopeful that is how it will go for me too. I don't want to get pregnant, in fact I would rather adopt if my husband and I change our minds about having children, but it is still something to think about. That is a miracle that your friend's little sister was born like that...how lucky! If I ever get pregnant it would be a crazy miracle. I would be pretty scared at first though. I just don't want to have some sort of 'phantom pain' afterwards. Lol.

On a side note, I thought my husband would not be here for my surgery because he is off doing some training, but his bosses are letting him come home early just for my surgery!! Thank god, because I was very nervous about being by myself for the recovery, especially for the first few days when your abs don't want to work & you have that awful gas stabbing you everywhere. Haha!

sorry for what you are suffering from . and yes, remove the tubes can cut your chances of ever getting pregnant in half? and according to your words, you also have your appendix removed, do you have your ovary removed? if you have your both ovaries removed, you do not have the chance to get pregnant with natural way.

I had my 4th lap 8 months ago today! I had my right ovary and tube removed. I was expecting it to be a worse recovery than my other the but in fact it was the easiest! I probably had more pain than you will since I had an ovary removed. The tube isn't attached to much so I don't think you will notice anything extra in the way of pain. I used gas x to help with the gas pains....I hardly had any gas pain this time around. The first night was really tough for me....I didn't fall asleep until 4 am because I got behind in my pain meds.....and anesthesia and surgery pain meds were wearing off. I took two weeks of because I had the ovary removed and it was a little too soon to go back to work. I felt while I was at home that I was ready....but my job as a nanny is very physical so it was hard. I was actually more nervous this time than the last three. I had to have this one done at the hospital instead of my Dr' s surgery center....so it was unfamiliar to me....but was fine!

qwertylee408-Thank you! my appendix is already out, and this is what I am having done:

-Right fallopian tube removal
-Endometriosis adhesions removed
-Scar tissue removed
-LUNA procedure (where they sever the nerves to your uterus)

I still have all other female parts (ovaries, other tube, etc.) I am jsut nervous because I remember how hard of a recovery it was when I had my appendix removed, even though I have always heard that is an easy procedure (they do make it look easy on tv!). I am having this tube removed because it is completely blocked with scar tissue and they have tried to unblock it with no success. I wish I had time to try other things to avoid surgery, but I have to have it done now while I am still in the Army so it is paid for & so I can get the paid time off...my new job will not give me paid time off. I don't want to risk waiting and then ending up needing the surgery anyways, then have to go without a paycheck for 2 weeks. =( I will definitly look into that site you posted!

Christine-Wow! Both a tube and an ovary removed? I would be so scared! Thankfully it wasn't that bad for you. I hope I am just as pleasantly suprised with my surgery! I never thought to use gas-x for the gas pain, but that makes sense...I will be picking some of that up later today.I have definatly had those sleepless nights when you think the surgery meds will last all day & they don't...I will be taking meds before that happens this time so I am not up until 4am!! Haha. Thank you for sharing your experience...with everything you guys have been saying, I am a little less nervous about the recovery. =)

I wasn't really scared. I was more scared to have it done at the hospital as opposed to the suricenter I had the others done at. All was fine. I had to be there at 5:30am....My surgery was at 7:30 though I think they took me back at 7:10. I woke up in the first recovery room at 8:20. They moved me to my own room about 9:00.....and I was discharged at 10:20. Yeah I was feeling good....took oral pain meds right before I left the hospital.....but waited too long to take my first dose at home so then I was "behind the pain"....and it took a long time to get it back under control to where I could sleep. :-)

I haven't been here in a while too. I was just wondering if you had been on any medications or birth controls when you started having your pain again? I too have been having pain again as well, I have an appointment with my dr this week. I'm concerned because I was told to continue my bc and never skip because my pain is so severe. But I'm getting pain even while on it, and no spotting. I just found it odd, pain isn't just in my pelvic area anymore but also in my back.

Christine--Good to know that is a mystery person. Lol. I kinda thought that, but I wasn't sure and I didn't want to be rude just in case. I can't believe your surgery was so quick!! Mine started an hour and a half late because my insurance waiting until an hour AFTER I was scheduled to go in to approve it. So I arrived at like 8am, didn't leave until about 3pm! I may have been drugged up, but I am sure my husband was pretty bored waiting!!

lumorrow--I was on bc while having all of this pain. I went back to the depo shot about 6 months ago. I also had some Percocet for those "flare-up" days. It sucks because they say that bc is supposed to slow the growth down but it sure didn't slow mine down!! They found more during this surgery than the last one a year ago! I swear this Endo is so stubborn. But to fully answer your question, I haven't been OFF bc for years. I feel like the Endo is going to grow whether or not I am taking medication. Let me know how your surgery goes!

oh wow! My Dr started the insurance approval procedure when I decided I wanted surgery....the approval is good for 6 months. So I already had the approval when I scheduled the surgery. Yes it was pretty quick.

The appointment with my dr showed i didn't have any cysts but he tried to get me to go back on lupron and I told him no lol. I think i'm going to start weening myself off of the bc. I've gained a lot of weight on it anyways.

Sorry to join the party late, I too haven't been on in forever! How did the surgery go and how is your recovery? I had both tubes taken out in order to get pregnant. I felt so much better after they were gone! I'm convinced that the scar tissue on them was causing a bit of pain.

Hope you are ok with the implications of the surgery.
