Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
I hope that you find something that works well to help you suffer a little less.
Here I was still getting all kinds of pain in the mean time. My family doctor gave me Naproxin and she said she wouldnt give me anything stronger then that and to ride out the pain. She refered me to a gyn that finally gave me a precription for Codine (this medicine works for me and finnally I can sleep comfortablely at night. Before I was only getting 1-2 hrs of sleep. She insisisted (since she didnt see anything in the 3rd ultra sound)that she needed to a laproscopy surgery. She said "If we dont see anything during the surgery, You are going to need to see your primary care doctor and a pain specialist". So in other words, she didnt fully believe my pain, but atleast she was giving me a strong pain medicine then that family doctor who treated my pain like it was some of joke. So May finnally comes around, and I was given surgery in the hospital thats when they found out I had endometriosis. Scar tissue was completly wrapping around 1 of my ovary's, and another piece of scar tissue was pushing down on the other 1.
The pain after the surgery was intense. The nurses made me feel guilty and put a guilt trip on me because I couldn't say my pain level was a 3. So finally I gave in and said my pain level was a 3. I went home ate a sandwitch, well I shouldnt of done that, I threw up the whole thing, and didnt eat or get out of bed on that next day. 2 days after the surgery someone takes my temp, and its 101. I was taken to Emergency room, treated for UTI, and dehydration. I couldn't move or walk around because of the pain, I was in a wheelchair for awhile.
It has been 3 weeks since my surgery and I am still having pain. I really hope when I call the doctor tommorow that she believes me and refills my medicine that is helping me so much.
I honestly don't want to have another surgery ever again. I suffered too much from this 1. I don't want to ever be pregnant either. I am currently taking Yaz, and that seems to be helping somewhat. I understand what its like to be in pain, and I also know how bad it hurts when a doctor doesn't believe you.

Just a word of caution though, not all OB's do this surgery, you really need to find a very skilled surgeon who knows what they are doing.
