For Endo in the bladder you would have to see a urologist and get a cystoscopy to confirm it. But ironically compared to ibs it is more rare to have endo inside the bladder than what is visible through a lap. So either way before a urologist will touch you they usually insist on your seeing an Endo specialist.

My gynecologist suspected Endo of the bladder. Then, I went to an Endometriosis specialist & during my Excision surgery he ruled bladder Endo out. I was actually diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis or what they called "Endo's Evil Twin." Now I know what has been wrong with my bladder! All of the doctors before my diagnosis attributed my bladder symptoms to Endo. Fortunately, I can now be treated for what is really wrong. Google IC for more info and go see a urologist. Good luck!

I didn't notice any waterworks problems but had pelvic pain. When I had my lap it turned out that my bladder and tubes were adhered to my side and to each other (at least that is what I understood). Unfortunately due to the surgery I had urine retention and had to stay in hospital with a catheter (ugh) until I could pee again. Once the surgery pains were gone so was the pelvic pain. Unfortunately it's back again now but I was deemed 'unfit for surgery' today so won't know for a couple of months at least whether it's the bladder again. Sorry this is probably not very helpful to you. Just to say you can have endo on the outside of the bladder without waterworks symptoms.

thanks for all the replies. I haven't seen a urologist yet because my gynae has some experience with bladders etc. i see him for the first time next week. it's not so bad that i feel like i have an infection it seems a lil deeper then that. pelvic pain, peeing a lot (alot!) and either a slight pink/red tinge of the pee or bloody discharge. i really think its endo.

pippa, i had to stay in hospital too because of urine retention and had my first experience with a catheter after my lap last year!! i was begging them to put me out of my misery hehe. so i was like please please give me the catheter. im actually really scared its gonna happen again if i have to have another lap. is there anyway to stop the retention?

Funnily enough, I was discussing this issue with the nurse today. She said they would probably keep me in overnight after the lap just in case.
If I understood it correctly, the only way to prevent urine retention would be to not touch the bladder. But then that's what we want, isn't it? A nice shiny new clean bladder :-)

Your post just reminded me of something! Before I had the laps last year I had what I thought was my first bout of cystitis. There was blood, lots of peeing sessions and awful pain. My urine tests all came back clear, though (apart from the presence of blood). Hm, I wonder now whether it could have been the endo? You never know with endo, do you?

Anyways, the pain is back but no cystitis-like symptoms as yet. I'll keep watching out. I have extra time now.

i was kept in over night anyway but they were gonna keep me another night but all i wanted to do was to get out of the rooom that held the horrible memories.
ya know i had a dream about it last night which i know is so very weird. but i really am traumatised by it! hehe.

when the catheter was taken out and i was trying to go still, i had the tv on and all i could think about was [looking at the news presenter] "ya know i bet YOU could pee if you really wanted to right now"
makes me chuckle now.

i see a new consultant next week and i really think another lap is in order because my old doc didnt really look anywhere apart from the ovaries.

i don't necessarily have like red blood. but its like a red tinge, like when you have pretty much finished your cycle. but it happens a lot and the bloody discharge.

the weird thing is it doesnt feel like cystitis or UTI, its just really debilitating because i have to go all the time and i only a go a very small amount if that makes sense.
i have had to pee in a cup and measure it every time and jot down when ive gone. o dear lord has that opened my eyes. Monday it was 24 times....

hi there i have extensive webbing of the bladder witch they discovered during my second lap i always felt like i had a foot permantly pressed on my bladder 24/7, i pee heaps some time a little comes out some times its like a fire hose lol i also have adenomysis witch can cause havoc with the water works.

the webbing is all over the outside of my bladder and gets removed time and time again with each lap i have.

As far as the questionnaire, I do not know what the score means...it came from the specialist where I had Excision Surgery. I would complete it and take it to your doctor so you have something to go off of. I remember the first lap I had I was told that I likely had Endo of the bladder because my bladder was pink and it isn't supposed to be that way. Also, I do not have "waterworks" symptoms...thank goodness! :) Plus, I only sometimes feel like I have a UTI, which is only when I eat something that triggers it to act up. The pain of my bladder is deep inside, like Endo but in my bladder area. Oh, and I pee all the time! I have had episodes of blood in my urine too. Also, when I had my 3rd lap I had to keep the cath in too and stay overnight until I could pee on my own. Just so you know that IC does not always feel like a UTI. :)

I had many bladder issues before my last lap. I had a cystoscopy while they were in there & it had practically engulfed practically everything below my belly button & had started moving up. I highly recommend that you make an appointment to see a urologist & be sure that you let him know you have endo.

i feel the need to pee alot! And sometimes its just a wee bit, it can burn and hurt on my period..ive been checked lots of times for infections/urine infections and stds..all clear. Sometimes i cant actualy physicaly go though, i am bursting but ijust cant go..this is usualy when i take some painkillers, so i think it might be them.

thank you all for your input! its nice not to feel alone. i mean the bladder problems i'm feeling do not feel like a UTI etc. its hard to explain. i'm seeing my gyne tomorrow (new guy) and am praying he's going to be able to help with all my problems.
i even made a bladder diary because my mom had to do one for a doctor and man did it open my eyes. i can see that something is seriously wrong. but i'm positive i'm going to get it fixed!
