i dont think they will give you a hysterectomy unless you really really need it and even then many doctors still wont give you one. also there are other options like herbs, organic products and foods, some have mentioned acupuncture works and cutting out foods that make endo symptoms worse.also a hysterectomy is not a cure for endo and a big surgery like that is dangerous for anyone especially if you dont need it. im 18 and i have one doctor that wants me to have a hysterectomy if 6 months of lupron dosent work then my other doctor absolutly wont give me one because im " too young" even though i dont want kids lol. so i know what your going through. anyways good luck on whatever you decide and i hope it works out for you

I wanted you to be aware that at hysterectomy is not a cure for endometriosis. In fact, many women that get the procedure done, still suffer from endo pain!!!!

Peolpe change as they mature. When I was in my twenties I thought I never wanted to have children. I am now thirty eight, and hope and pray that someday I will have a child.

I know most of us suffer from excrutiatingly painful periods and perhaps that might have something to do with your decision, I don't know.Suffering from a heartache years from now because you can't bear children could be even worse.

Congrats on getting insurance, I'm sure that you feel relieved. About the hysterectomy - I am having one done on Monday but I have done everything I could possibly do to avoid it and I also know that it may not be the end of my endo pain but I am out of options and there are some other complications like cysts and bowel problems. And I have had my children so there isn't that issue either. Even with all of the pain and everything else I still put it off for many years and finally just didn't know what else to do. It is such a major step and at your age you would have to do HRT for many, many years and that's not healthy either. Please research what other options you have before committing to this - and your doctor would have to agree that given whatever your health history is that hysterectomy is the only option left. I wish you the best of luck with your dilemma.
