Thank you. Thats kind of what I was trying to ask. Apparently didn't do it right. I have never wanted anything to do with ivf and the boy agrees he just didnt know that retrieval used the same drugs. Which obviously makes endo grows and I don't want anymore hormones in my body! No no no. That and I was thinking if it didn't have hormones I'd do it in case we did want a baby. But I drew the line at pregnancy so he thought maybe a surrogate etc. Out of curiosity nothing more.

For continuous bcps do you get a period every 3 months or just take it straight thru? I just started continuous and love it so far. Random spitting but way better than a period. Im also taking 2 pills a day instead of one. Would love your feedback here too. Thank you for your input.

And, with egg retrival, you pay storage fees AND, it's very diffucult to get out of paying that fee because they consider them viable lives so if you decide you never wanted kids and have eggs stored, it's hard to just say you don't want them - they won't just get rid of the eggs. But anyways...

So for the continual BCP's, I have taken them this way for over 10 years. I am 37 and was diagnosed when I was 26. I take Zovia 1/35. I'm hyper sensitive so I literally havse to take it at the EXACT same time nightly, even 10 minutes off will cause spotting. If I do get spotting, I use the advil trick for that ( check with your doctor first ) but they told me to take up to 16 per day for up to 7 days, that will usually stop the break thru for me. If not, I just stop all together, have a bleed for about 5 days and go back on. I usually don't take a break so no, don't stop every 3 months. I was able to ride this out for about 3 years and then the advil didn't work so I had to stop, have a bleed but I have been fine since. How long are you going to take the double pills for? Are you doing that because you had break thru only taking 1? I'd say talk to your doctor and don't double up, it's better to just take 1. If you still have break thru after afew months of that, then you might need to try a different pill. I was told pills are like shoes, sometimes you have to try afew before you find the right fit.
Happy to answer any other questions....I love the pill, for me, it's made my endo totally quiet, like I don't even have it....I work out daily, and live a totally pain free life! I'm also paleo which has helped, I don't eat anything inflammatory.

Of course theyd consider eggs to be living and not sperm what crap. My doc told me to take two. I do have spotting and it's annoying. It's helped a lot tho no more pain :) 16 Advil a day? Isn't that a lot? I don't understand how it would work tho since its a blood thinner? How did you start the diet? Yeah with this pill it's like I'm pain free it's great!

Advil isn't a blood thinner, you're thinking asprin. If you google ibuprofin for breakthru you can read up on it. 2400mg per day is the max and yes, it's alot but it's taken for a short period of time and not often. I do this under my doctors orders, I wouldn't advise anyone to just try it, you need to talk to the doctor and see what they think but this is what she has me do from time to time.
I was gluten free for almost 2 years but was feeling really tired so my doctor told me to try to eliminate other things so I did some research and basically dove all into paleo. I got rid of all grains, sugar, anything processed, dairy. I only eat fresh foods, organic, grass fed, antibiotic/hormone free meats. It's drastic but for ME, it's made a huge difference. I have my energy back and feel great. I firmly believe I just have alot of food sensitivties. I'm not celiac but just giving up wheat made a huge difference in how I felt, all of my IBS type symptoms immediately went away. Dr. Oz has alot of shows on the fact that many people are sensitive to alot of things but won't test positive for celiac etc.
How long do you have to be on the double pills? Usually that's for a short time until the bleeding stops, then they have you scale back. I never had to double up so I'm not really educated on that aspect of the pill, I just know for me, consistency in taking the 1 is key to avoid breakthru.
I'm glad you're feeling better though....once you can control the endo life is so much better!
My heart breaks for the members here who have tried so much and those options just don't work.....I have a family member who's in that situation, her endo is horrible and she suffers daily....

I'm not going to read through all these comments, I read the first page and saw it getting a bit nasty.

Alana I am 23 and this year I had to harvest my eggs when I lost my ovary just as a back up as I also have a low egg count.

I went through the IVF process to do this...the hormones they injected me with matured my eggs but they collect the eggs before ovulation as they are fertile as you mentioned. They do not "operate" per say, they go up through the vaginal wall with a probe and for a day it feels like someones stuck a hot poker up there.

After this any other follices that are left to continue to grow will ovulate on their own, remembering there are quite a fair wack of hormones in there.

Because of this I would say they would be hesitant to take eggs during surgery. Usually surgeons want their patients to have as little endo as possible...fertility drugs made my endo horrid, I had surgery 2 months after my egg retrieval to remove my ovary.

This is of course just my opinion, perhaps they would consider this.

Thank you both for your help I didnt ask all this to create an issue.I was curious. I don't want to get prego so my bf thought this could help but I refuse to go thru stuff that will make me worse at all. I wasnt sure how the whole thing worked so I asked I didn't mean to create a war.

no worries :) even if you retrieve the eggs you'll still have to go through the process to get pregnant and you'll continue to ovulate too. So i guess unless you're intent is to get pregnant (even someday) then it's not worth doing.

No worries, I think things seem to have calmed down and you got some answers. I think sometimes on boards like this it's easy to get defensive and jump to thinking people are being mean, I think alot of times things on email etc are lost in translation. I'm glad you're feeling better about your question! Sometimes I feel things are never easy...we do one thing thinking it's going to help us and that can cause 4 other things to come up....frustrating. Keep asking questions and doing research! I am always learning new stuff online and learning from other members, and hopefully, with me being a positive story on the birth control pill, I hope my story is helpful to others as well!

Thanks, my boyfriend thought it would be easier, and I didn't know what the process would be. It was more out of curiosity sake than anything else. He's bummed because I don't want to get pregnant and I don't want to do that. But he also said that he wouldn't force me to do anything. So I don't know. I just absolutely refuse to get prego and I'm def not taking hormonal drugs, birth control is bad enough, I couldn't imagine what IVF would do, and God only knows what the long term effects are on something that isn't that important to me (as you can get a kid through other avenues nowadays). But getting pregnant sounds absolutely terrible. His mom's telling him that pregnancy will make me feel better. Perhaps while I'm prego but not after. It's like the only thing certain people care about is how many kids I can produce. I'm not a broodmare. I don't want that at all. Plus if I do get pregnant and I do have pain its not like I can just take painkillers after the fact. So I think if he's happy with ME than everything else will work out on its own. But who knows.

I agree. Well, the thing he should remember is YOUR health is most important. Speaking in generalizations here, how can he expect you to care for a baby if you can barely make it out of bed from endo pain? The IVF drugs were a huge concern to me as well which is why we didn't want to pursue that. I guess later down the road, if you wanted a family, there is egg donation where they implant someone elses egg into you and fertilize it with his sperm so that way if you wanted to ever experience pregnancy, that could be an option. I hate how people say get pregnant, you'll feel better. I can tell you this - I have come across many members who did just that and do NOT feel better after! Also, a family member who currently has severe endo, who nothign seems to work for her, BCP's make her sick, nuva ring not helpful, etc currently is pregnant by miracle and she feels like absolute crap. I'm almost afraid for her to have the baby just knowing how bad she felt all these years...
So pregnancy is not the solution, my personal opinion is if people are just getting pregnant in hopes it will make their endo better, they will most likely be very disapointed.

I don't want to get prego period haha I want to get my tubes tied so that ends the discussion right there. Their problem is everyone in the family has fertility issues so they look towards me. Well just because I could doesn't mean I should or that I'd want to. I feel fantastic right now due to continuous birth control. Why would I put myself in jeopardy worse?
