Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
You can watch the full thing here. he still has an attitude about it and I'm not cool with Mike calling us ignorant Twats. Whatever these people aren't worth my time anyway I have real doctors!
kDeezy, did you catch his "apology" show? Just wondering if he apologized or just defended himself like you predicted.
I was also pretty offended that the cohost called us ignorant twats and told us to eat his balls (this was shortly after he was complaining about how his newborn daughter "sucks" because all she does is cry and poop). There were some women who said really rude and nasty things on Facebook to them which just makes us look like a bunch of hysterical bitches. Oh well. He promised to do a whole podcast dedicated to endo which I guess is the best apology we'll ever get from him.
I'm feeling more of a raging PIT BULL these days than the namesake of my sweet baby girl Dalmatians. As most of you know, I'm not one to sugar coat. It's just not me. I will NEVER roll a turd in sweet cocoa and call it a "truffle". Therefore, I have retreated into my dark world of supposed "pain management" since late January. You also know that prior to retreat I tried in desperation to kick down the doors of arrogant assholes in white coats who call themselves "doctors". All that I've managed to do is re-injure old wounds that I had long-since buried...MOST inflicted psychologically by these same specialists.
The most recent "specialist" touted himself as fresh from ?, now Department Head, MD, JD (doctor and lawyer) of our University Teaching Hospital in the deep south, Women's Specialty Care Facility specializing in....let's all say it together now....ENDOMETRIOSIS. Supposedly, he's worked with doctors affiliated with the endometriosis centers in Colorado and Atlanta, promising great things with his plans of a state of the art treatment facility in?..oops, can't say it...he's a lawyer, too ya know...defamation. He called me personally after I bombarded his fax and phone...giving me renewed hope after a lifetime of suffering. He talked to me like a brother, aggressively ordering blood panels, etc. to investigate my self-diagnosed "residual endometriosis" post hysterectomy w/removal of ovaries in 1994. He sent me to his colleague in TN for a "piece of the action". He performed trans vaginal ultrasound, pelvic/anal exam, CA 125, all the while flirting with his young female "shadow" internist and taking cell phone calls from his wife. He prescribed Butrans patches for pain @ $500 bucks per box ( I couldn't believe or afford) then bounced me back to the aforementioned "specialist". VERY LONG STORY but I was handed off to another GYN who couldn't understand why I wailed when she attempted pelvic exam. I ask her to anesthetize me and do a thorough examination, unlike the TN specialist. She wouldn't do it. Those 3 great HEADS of our new Women's Specialty Care Facility specializing in....ENDOMETRIOSIS told me that my problems are psychological. Their advice was to get maybe some pelvic floor therapy to "loosen" my vagina muscles and to get a therapist to help me with my depression and anxiety. I was breathless. I was dry-heaving in the floor, so distraught I could not focus. Of course that further "proved" their theory of CRAZY.
I limped home in tears, refusing their offer of guinea pig psychological testing to determine if I fucking qualified for pain management. WHY do I dump all this verbal "garbage"?
Because I am 3 months into pain management after trial of Morphine and now Oxycodone, with my left side distending as I speak...doubling me over in pain. My period was ALWAYS the first week of the month on BC. May 1st is Thursday. I have no ovaries, no uterus, no hope of pain relief...but by God according to the "specialists" I have no residual endometriosis. IGNORANCE of this disease is RAMPANT among those who claim to be doctors FOR the female gender. What do we expect from so-called Dr. Drew?......Exactly.
I am a wounded warrior of this long-fought battle. My first time hearing the word "endometriosis" was from a urologist in 1993, who sent me BACK across the street to my GYN. His words, and I quote verbatim "There's no such thing as endometriosis. It's a catch phrase for pelvic pain. Take some Tylenol and see a psycho therapist"
Sorry for the potty mouth, but I get sick of being muzzled. It's the same SHIT---different day, 2 decades later---catch phrase? garbage bag diagnosis? OB/GYN or talk show host? WE KNOW IT'S REAL.
