Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
I am just now trying to change my diet a whole lot and MAKE myself exercise. I felt like I was just rotting and in pain and not doing anything about it other than taking pills and having surgery. Ugh.
I wish everyone knew just how much endo affects all parts of your life. I've had boyfriends call me "Frigid" because they just couldn't understand all the stuff going on with me. (They didn't stay boyfriends for long) Thank god I married a nice guy. But even with friends and family being so nice and supportive, it doesn't take away the pain.
Please email me if you need anything. I know it's hard, but this board has been a great resource for me and I just joined not too long ago. Reading everyone's stories makes me want to cry, and I feel like I am finally in it together with people who understand.

That's like going to the doctor with a headache and he tells you to chop off your head. It's absurd to think that is ANY reason to have a baby. And from what I've read, you don't really know for sure if that will help or not! You need to find a better doctor because that is bull.
I am SO glad I kept pushing to find a doctor who was an endo specialist... he is the one who told me "It's your body and you can decide what we will do to help all this". I can't even tell you what a relief that was!
As far a depression goes, I went on an anti=depressant, but in my case it just made me feel nothing, so I went off it. I exercise 4 times a week to the point that I'm sweating (I know, exercise is the last thing you want to do when you're depressed), and it's helped to bring up my mood. There are studies that say exercise actually has the same or better effect after 3 months as SSRI's.
There are no easy answers. I'm struggling w/the infertility thing, too (as a result of endo? not sure) and have hypothyroidism. I get by day to day.
We're here for you!
I am so sorry to hear of your heartache and pain. Even with having the wonderful women on this site to share with, you can at times feel so alone. It is a very difficult journey. The pain and exhaustion are frustrating. Even for me, there are times where the tears keep falling... You just wish you could pick up the phone and talk to someone who really knows what you're going through. I know the feeling of worthlessness and feeling as if you fail in all your titles (mother, wife, careerwoman) etc. It is hard. We are blessed to have each other to share with. You can e-mail me if you need to chat :)
I am still in some pain today and having constant bowel movements, but my mood is much better and the pain isn't debilitating today. Anyway, Thanks for all of your support, hope you all have a wonderful day!!
personally, i have my ups and downs... i was a fairly positive person when i started getting my endo symptoms, so it's not always so hard for me to bounce back when i'm having a good day. but there are always exceptions.
i'm glad you're feeling better, and if you have a good doc and a good relationship with him/her, i hope it just keeps improving as they track your treatments and reactions.
every so often, i get an awful sense of helplessness. it usually only happens on one of my "bad days", but sometimes it sneaks up on me. i hope you're able to regulate as much as possible!
glad to know you're comfy back on here!
