I just sent you a quick message, but also wanted to add that I have run into the same thing. My doctor refused to do another laparoscopy, I knew it was the cause of my pain so I found a new gyno and she did another lap and found even more endo in more areas. Each time only had relief for a short period of time. That was almost two years ago and they gynos I have been seeing will not do anything about the endometriosis even though I am now in more pain and more nausea than ever, that is why I am now going to have another lap but this time Laparoscopic Excision, or "LAPEX." with one of top endometriosis doctors (in my message), for they not only use a different procedure but will actually do a lap and think it is necessary. Have you had the excision procedure?

I had one lap, then had another 6 months later. I have had the same problem with doctors. I think I saw about 10 before I finally got diagnosed. I would say find another doctor and if they don't help, find another! Good luck.

Yeah just seems like everyone of them is the same... they say we will talk about a lap. but give me three months and try all of this stuff and we will regroup... He finally agreed to do another lap. after I threw my little fit but I just don't understand why we have to throw a fit to get a procedure done that is the only way to find out how bad the endo is? Its been 3 years since my last one and we have been trying to conceive and all I wanted to know was how bad is it before we try again.

Sounds like I'm reading my own post.. I have a large ovarian cyst, quite painful and it's covered with endo. I've had two prior laps to remove endo and a cyst and my OB/GYN refuses to do another Lap because we want to try for a baby in Nov this year. He sent me to a fert dr who said the only way I will get pregnant is thru IVF but IVF costs 19k and we don't have that kind of cash right now. We hopefully will this winter but all I can do right now is live with the pain. He's tried me on different BC pills and I can't take them because they turn my stomach inside out every time. My GP wants me to get a second opinion for surgery but I can't get a call back from the scheduler, so frustrating. The last time I went to see my OB/GYN I asked him if there was anything he could do for me for right now and he said no surgery, if I do surgery it will be a hysterectomy. So he's prescribing me vicoprofen for the pain until we can do IVF. It helps but not all the time. I feel like I've hit a wall with my dr too. I understand your frustrating completely. Hopefully if I can ever get a call back from this other OB/GYN dr she can remove this endo covered cyst thats the size of an orange. Maybe you should find another dr and see what they have to say. Good Lord!! Kmiller!!! That is horrible! A cyst the size of an ORANGE!!!?! That is NOT right for your doctor to just leave it there! That has got to be painful, especially with endo growing on it!!! You really need to find a doctor that will remove it!

Other than Kmiller's case, doctors do not like to do surgery if they can help it. Surgery creates scaring and adhesions which can end up being alot more painful. Texas, humor your gyno and see the fertility specialist. Chances are that they will suggest you have surgery so that it's easier to conceive. Your gyno just wants to hear it from a specialist so he can cover his own ass. You owe it to yourself to try everything with in reach.

I know having to see all these doctors can make results come in slow motion, but this is part of it. I've been through 3 gynos, ( on my 4th with a good feeling ) a back specialist ( yea, it was suggested several times that my PELVIC pain is from my back, whatever ) and am now seeing a physical therapist, my GP, and 2 pain specialists. I do what works and with the help of a calender! LOL!

I suggest to either ask them straight up "why not?" or find a different one, all you need to do is ask. You all owe it to yourselves to try.

Kmiller, sorry to hear I would think with the cyst and pain they would go in and remove it... not much fun espeically if that thing ruptures. I get cyst often but they usually just go away or rupture. None of it is fun and wish I had a job that was a little understanding but I work in an office full of men and they have no clue. The doctor agreed to do another lap and once we walk into an infertility clinic our insurance doesn't cover that and like some other people, we just don't have that kind of cash right now...... Hopefully someone can find a magic pill for this and cure us all! That would be nice. Hope everyone has a good weekend!
