Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Hi, I'm trying to find a diagnosis for all the terrible pain that I'm experiencing. Easier said than done! I'm already tired of Dr appointments and scans.
Basically, I'm having a lot of left sided abdominal pain which can reach up right under my ribs. It also can extend right across the front of my abdomen and around my lower back. Over the counter pain killers don't bring any relief. Today, I had right sided pain for the first time. Associated with the pain is a low grade fever, headaches, nausea. I also have a fair amount of pelvic pain and cramps down my legs.
I more or less have niggly pain all the time, but around ovulation the pain etc gets very bad and continues right up to about Day 2 of my period. Apart from Day 1 of my period, I can't say that I've ever experienced much pain during my period, so this is confusing me a bit. However, the pain does seem related to the monthly cycle.
An ultrasound showed I had a small cyst on my left ovary (2.7cm). My Dr didn't think it was the cause of my problems. I was referred to a gastroenterologist who said it could be Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I'm not convinced as it doesn't explain the low grade fever. I'm going to ask to be referred to a gynaecologist now.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have to admit that I'm going mad with the pain. It sometimes feels as if something has burst inside.

Just keep at it and make sure you do as much research as you can before your appointment. That helped me in knowing what questions to ask the doctor. Especially when it came to a treatment plan. I hope you are able to find the answers you are looking for.
I have gotten a lot of good info on this site. Tomorrow I have an appt with my GYN before my hysteroscopy and D & C on Tuesday, and I will be showing up there with a notepad full of questions!

I am also in the same boat :( and that unsure feeling of "what is it" is horrible. The unknown just makes your mind go nuts... Today I am going to get an u/s my first step to try to find out.. I'm am so scared. Good luck to you..
Hope you find out what is wrong. Since I started this discussion I had an internal ultrasound which showed that my left fallopian tube was blocked and filled with fluid. I also have another cyst like structure on my left side. My Dr didn't say, but I'm thinking that it is an endometrial mass.He did say that I could have adhesions. It does help to know what's wrong instead of thinking it's all in your head.
Really??? Wow so what are they going to do? What's next? I now its odd but I keep thinking something is wrong w/ my tube also. If you don't mind would you message me your symptoms?
